THIS.
As your pads wear, the fluid fills the empty space that the pistons leave as they slowly move further toward the rotor.
New pads will partially fill the reservoir back up.

like I said, I know it needs a fluid change, but maybe pads later.

There isn't a leak I think because the system has been working/been there for a WHILE. But, the pedal is basically "weak", it needs a strong, firm press and it feels like the car can brake better. (just did a test drive, after basically touching the brake thing)

Perhaps some of the following may apply:

Hey @budman do architects use lien waivers like contractors do? Can you file a lien against the client?

basically I can take it to a shop, but they could also just change the fluid and NOT diagnose an issue / or The ISsue..


my fear is that the fluid/system is SO old that , yes, there may indeed be an issue with some part/hose.

Gimme a good reason why I shouldn't buy a cheap property in Alturas outright. Good little get away spot for now and potentially a home down the road... I've always enjoyed the landscape up there.
