I'm dating a girl that lives in Vallejo, I'm not familiar with the area, or surrounding areas other than SF, and would like some input on things to do. Date type things we can do together outside of Vallejo. Any suggestions on places to go? Maybe as far south as SF/Oakland. North to Napa. West to San Rafael.

What say you?

Are you talking restaurants or activities? There are good ones both in Vallejo and nearby.

Sardine Can is a pretty good seafood place for lunch. A little rundown but with excellent food. They also do music some nights.

Michael Warring is an amazing restaurant if you can get in. Super fancy, excellent food, high price.

Downtown Benicia is cool and real close, really good chinese place on Main st and an excellent taco truck. The museum there that talks about the history and it's original state capital is very neat especially if you get the old docents where know it all.

Skip American Canyon entirely unless you like Indian Food, and there's a pretty good place across from Safeway.

I can rant for days about Napa and the rest of the valley, so feel free to PM me about it. I work as a concierge so I talk about it all day but would want to know more about what you were looking for then to just prattle on about restaurants/wineries without a goal in mind.

Fairfield just north of Vallejo about 20 minutes, has the mall of course, Jelly Belly Factory, you've got the waterfront of Suisun that's kind of fun with the lighthouse and the greek restaurant.

If you want to cross the bridge, The Nantucket is very similar to the Sardine Can, old restaurant with excellent seafood. They also do a prime rib dinner for two that's well priced.

Above it is the Dead Fish, little bit fancier version of a seafood restaurant, but at sunset the views are spectacular.

Feel free to PM me or ask questions, I'll help how I can.

Good list. Restaurants and activities. I'm simply no good at coming up with ideas for things to do, one of my weaknesses in regards to dating. My ex said I was "boring", so this time I want to engage in more activities outside the house. Never been to Napa, so I'll PM ya if that becomes a viable option.

:thumbup

Anytime man.

Of course there's the Discovery Kingdom/Six Flags.

Mare Island has a really cool museum that's open random days of the week. You also have the old Naval church there that's amazing with some old missiles and stuff mounted around. There's also the coast walk on the West side that's beautiful for bird watching or sunsets.

Check out the Womanopoly's Burlesque Show, it's like the last friday of each month. She is also a hell of a massage therapist :laughing

You can always grab the ferry and run over to SF and do fisherman's wharf easily and on a short schedule. Watch for bay cruises or bay dinner offers.

The chinese buffet in Vallejo is really good.

I'll think about more I'm sure and add them as I do.

Let me know if you ever flash on "Man, I wish I could take her ____________".

I was just gonna mention the ferry idea. Koi you're a wealth of information!

East of Suisun City is the Old Western Railway Museum.
There is an old airplane museum @ Travis AFB in Fairfield.
You can walk across the Benicia Bridge.

dont over think dating. keep it simple, never do stuff you don't feel comfortable with just to make her "happy"

go on small hike, weather is great. go pier 39 and do some touristy stuff, girls love it, guys love it, winner and it keeps her attention away from you for most of the time. worst thing i can think of is being alone and it gets weird because in the beginning there is mostly not much mutual interest.

don't sit around some place you don't feel good and make her all awkward because she feels like she has to love our initiation of fun.

but what do i know, I'm single by choice and typing nonsense at 1.30 , hahahahaha

There is a pretty good little brewery right by the ferry terminal. Open on weekends and a great place to sit and people watch. In Port Costa there is the Bull Valley Roadhouse. Kind of fancy but fantastic.

House of Soul is one of my favorite restaurants in Vallejo.
HORRIBLE service but great food!
Be prepared to be stared at because of your color. Wait, you are probably pretty used to that anyway.
Shitload of history at Mare Island. I don't know if you are allowed to any longer but roaming the graveyards shows a virtual who's who of US Naval history.
The golf course there is very nice and pretty challenging.

Overall, V-Town is a run down shithole. The architecture is similar to Alameda. Drive around and check out the neighborhoods.

Suisun i liked the toast from joy of eating and i love babs delta dinner.

Davis has interesting stuff to see around the outskirts. Winters is kinda cool as well.

No one mentioned Marine World.
Last time I visited I got there early and no lines so I rode the medusa coaster 5 times in a row until the gf got pissed and said enough.

Then I hit the others and was out of there before 1pm.

The entire worth of attractions in Vallejo can be done in a day, you need never go back.
