What will it take to convince you of climate change?

so man-assisted global warming doesn't exist because al gore's an asshole, and people who think it's real are just like religious zealots.

way to make the counter-argument, gentlemen. you really painted us into a corner now. LOL

I never said anything about Climate change.

I just think Al Gore is the Joel Olsteen of Climate Change.

Since the Ice Age, the earth has continued to warm, presumably. :wow

But the public is expected to believe in computer models of doom and gloom that are constantly modified.

That is how science works. A model is derived, based on the best information available at the time. That model is modified or replaced as new evidence/data come to light. There are very few absolute truths in science and that is because our understanding of the universe continues to evolve as we learn more. If you want to have a set of "truths" that will not change, regardless of evidence, then religion might be a better place for you to look. Religion, while useful for a great many people, does not help further our understanding of the world and the universe. In many cases it hinders those efforts.

I'll pass.:rolleyes

THE ice age? :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

So being a hypocrite makes you a liar as well?

We all have inconsistency in our lives. Are you completely free of any hypocrisy? I'm not. Does that mean everything I say is wrong?

No. Its just a coincidence.

Oregon is losing its state park crown jewels along the Gorge, from the fire a 15 year old Vancouver resident threw a smoke bomb down a canyon. While I'm here to get a solar system installed.

A very displaced ying/yang

My kiddo is on Level 2 Evacuation Status right meow in Oregon. Car is packed and gassed up, they're ready to go if they get the word to bug out.

That sucks, man. I have a number of friends who have already been evacuated. Sucks, big time. :thumbdown

If I showed you the facts that demonstrate dozens of cities in the US are now dealing with greatly-increased flooding, would that convince you? Or do the cities have to be actually underwater 100%?

I searched the transcript of "inconvenient truth" and couldn't find a single prediction of when there'd be enough sea-level rise to complete submerge 12 US cities.

But I don't think actual facts have any meaning for the majority of the people on this forum, not in the era of alternative facts.

Gabe
:laughing

I thought you dropped the mic already...

Now there's another fucking record-breaking weather event. But holy fuck, that's just part of the normal cycle.

How about the skies raining blood and frogs? Or giant locust swarms consuming all the corn in Iowa? Night turns into day? Talking horses? Would you guys believe the climate was changing then? Stubborn fuckers!

Proof that even atheists have religion.

Was just reading about these kids, they sound like douches.

I was thinking a good start is multiple hurricanes beating sense into climate change denying idiots - Harvey, Irma and the fledgling Jose, that ocean water heating up is a real thing and leads to bad outcomes as the scientists have been clamoring for so long.

If they don't, then they will be taking the rest of us down with them.

Texas and Florida voted for Trump. Karma.:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

I absolutely refuse to live my life rendering obeisance to computer models that use dubious data. YMMV. And it obviously does.

I am religious, but apparently so are you.

These were no doubt man made events.

top 15 worst floods ever

Noah did not even make the list. :p

Most were because of big oil. :x that governor of Texas should resign. Fucker.

I am not saying we have not had an effect. I am saying you throwing down "See!!" Really does not help your case IMO.

Is it now in vogue to call someone religious because you don't agree with, or understand, the data or something?
