Hello,
I am in the process of buying a new 450 SMR and would like to get into some track riding. What are some good upgrades to think about? What suggestions would any of you experienced supermotards have for a new rider?

Thanks
Fernando

She gonna riiiiiip!

Check the track requirements where you’re going to go. Typically full sliders (handlebars, pegs, axles) and catch cans are required, but YMMV.

Otherwise, dial in the suspension and put some hours on it!

Don't forget safety gear. If you don't have leathers get some, track boots, gloves, and backprotector. I know some of the riders racing SMUSA use dirt gear but no thanks for me.

Also you'll want to tape your lights up or disconnect them and remove your mirrors.

Motard

I have all the safety gear. What else would I need to go ride at the Stockton track? What are some other tracks around the Bay Area if any?

First.. great bike.

Sonoma Raceway has a great track. There are days to go ride there and some races too. I have ridden it in the past (not for a while) and it is fun.

A quick search did not yield the schedule, but hopefully you can find it.

Have a blast!! :party

The bike is really ready to race, they should make that a slogan or something. If you want to change out the exhaust, air filter, and powercommander later on you can but i would just rip through the tires and dial in the suspension.

I miss mine
