Exactly, my first thought.

It is amazing how vermin go wild because humans eliminate all the predators, first. Then we are all upset that we have too many vermin. Wait till the deer really return in earnest and people are demanding their annihilation because the deer eat their stupid roses and posies.

Humans are selfish, dumb, violent and over populating the planet worse than anything ever imagined. Virtually all world problems (and arguments in the kitchen sink) could be resolved by having fewer people.

Here's a great show about this exact problem and how it was addressed in a relatively small ecosystem.

Set up a bounty for tails and post ads in Hmong communities. Problem would be solved in a matter of weeks.

Apparently they were brought here for their pelts in the 1930's...

Apparently, these rodents have an 'eat out' where they get together and eat everything in one spot.

Sounds like an easy target with some buck shot or drone dropping an m-200.

One of my best summers was my 10th spent killing rats down in the barn and other structures on the property. I killed them with rocks, arrows, knives, bb gun, 22 rifle and a 12 gauge shotgun (double barrel, knocked me on my ass when I shot both barrels to kill 12 under a wide board that my brother raised with a rope over a beam). I killed well over 200 that summer...

I was more getting at the observation that they are prolific hunters and they are pretty concentrated in Merced and Fresno area.

Wonder how this compares to the rabbits in Australia problem.

Also, BARF group hunt? Get a bunch of .22s, teach some newbies how to shoot, etc...
