I'm still stunned that the US hasn't released their AstraZeneka supply that we will never use to other Countries.

The "excuse" is they need FDA approval despite the fact that most Countries have approved it already so just send them to those Countries.

Government thinking can be cockeyed.

Agree, if we'll never use them, and it really looks that way, then we should be sharing them.

Can you guys take the VAERS, Fox News, etc stuff somewhere else?
VAERS is run by the CDC, not Fox or CNN. Can we still discuss reports in VAERS, or is that off limits?

Start a new thread about it. That part of the discussion seems too close to being political as well.

Meh, VAERS is directly related since it's the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. Won't be worthwhile in it's own thread, and it's only political when someone makes it political.

Dennis, your call?

Sorry, I kinda got this thread mixed up with the other one about who got the vaccine - which IS in the sink. I've been trying since before Snaggy left to keep out of the covid forum, or at least keep it to the narrow topic there. If it's any consolation, now I'm seeing plenty of this in my feeds...

I'm pretty surprised this came from the CDC.

I don't see any problem with it.

They aren't trying to hide the data, nor are they truncating a graph which is more along the lines of what you're talking about.

So, there's been a bunch of traffic in baseball past week about teams being hit with COVID.

It's been a combination of folks testing positive (and put on a 10 day leave), and those coming in close contact (7 day leave). But there's also been several anecdotes of fully vaccinated people testing positive.

Now, I don't know how long they've been vaccinated, so not sure how that affects things.

But there's been chatter (can't say if it's informed or not) of vaccinated folks still carrying the virus.

Anyone know any more details on that kind of thing?

Vaccination doesn't mean that you won't have the virus try to invade your system, it will just minimize it's ability to replicate once it gets inside and will significantly reduce the worst it will do, in the vast number of cases.

Yes, you can test positive, from what I've read, but you are going to be shedding much less virus than somebody who hasn't been vaccinated, in most cases.

The CDC says we can stop wearing masks and saying six feet apart once we're fully vaccinated:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...accinated.html

Alternate summary here: https://arstechnica.com/science/2021...inst-covid-19/

I really want to do this, but feel that I might need to print out the official CDC notice on it to show people who insist that I put a mask on...

Private businesses can set their own rules and may still say wear a mask. If just 50%+ of us are fully vaccinated and no one is wearing a mask, who is lying about being vaccinated?
