I absolutely my hotline 4/3 but I agree with the other hawaiian (not that I am)

I learned to surf in the nice clean WARM waters of hawaii (a few years) and fawk if this winter water works for me who surfs in 45* shit... not this guy

I never owned a suit before here, and booties what those were

Haven't surfed since HS really. Would like to get back into it now that I'm back in CA, but I don't have any way of transporting my board, plus I'd have to get a heavier suit =/

Semi-jack; who needs a board?

Robin Prodanovich 6'6" double-bump swallow-tail "reality check", like new except for my heavy goofy foot heels

Robin Prodanovich 6'9" squash-tail, corvette yellow rails, some dings all fixed, heel compressions

48th Ave brand (shaped/glassed by my neighbor when I lived at Ocean Beach) 7'6" round nose, squash tail, got it for my girlfriend at the time, never surfed, bonus if your name is Katie (because it says "for Katie" under the glass).

The RP boards are big-guy shortboards, the round nose is a good learner.

Make offer.

Edit: RipCurl 4-3 ultimate elasto wettie (large, well used) for free. Come get it.

Thanks Kurt!

Ok, question: Yesterday I finally got out to the Lane and after popping-up, the nose dove a little more than usual. Is it because the waves were steeper or was my pop-up just too far forward?

oh, and I finally got worked last night. I took 2 waves on the head before I was able to get to the channel.

Both your statements are correct.

If the nose dives because the waves are bigger (which causes the tail to lift more), you have to move back on the board to compensate.

If you can't seem to get back far enough to keep the node from digging too much, you may need a shorter board. Sometimes it's hard to fit a 9 foot board on a 6 foot face long enough to get a rail set.

I'll take the 7'6 out next time I go to the Lane then, and keep the 9' for Cowells and Manresa. Thanks
