I wonder if those numbers are a function of the antibodies not persisting for very long, at least to a measurable degree in relation to the accuracy of the tests used.

not "no" antibodies. insufficient to reach an appropriate level

this doesn't mean he will get covid again if he comes into contact.

one thing about sweden thats interesting, aside from the highly affluent society who takes science seriously (and thus used precaution to begin with) is how many households are like 1 person. a lot of sweden lives alone, limiting community transfer pretty well, to begin with

Tells me that perhaps a vaccine will be twice/year.

Not that big a deal to me.

Interesting.

This makes it a different ball game.

I am sure more info will become available.

If Covid-19 behaves the same way as other Covid variants (i.e flu, mutating) then we need a flu/Covid-19 shot once a year in future.

Yes and no. It depends on numerous things. We've never had a problem with Corona viruses until now, once this one passes us we may never again.

Typical vaccine uses an live - attenuated (very slow progressing viral versions) or dead viral particles to teach the human body how to fight off the infection.

These vaccine are considered novel. 3 are GMO viruses using the human/chimpanzee adenovirus or vesicular stomatitis viruses spiked with COVID genes.

2 others use mRNA

I think we have to wait and see how effective these are.

I'm sure Snaggy or Slo can be WAY more informative then I.

Yes, but...

Quote:
But, as my doctor continued, that's only half the body's defensive mechanism. T cells, an important part of our immune system's attack force, have virus memory.
They will lay quiescent until (or if) the body comes into contact with Covid-19 again, at which point my immune system will fire up and start producing antibodies once more.
It was, my doctor said, "highly, highly unlikely that you will get Covid again this year ... medically improbable." I was then quickly admonished that none of this should lead me to abandon social distancing, hand washing and other anti-virus measures.

As to Sweden?

Quote:
Swedish authorities want to bring in local lockdowns to stem the rapid spread of coronavirus in the country, experts have revealed.

The move marks a new approach in Sweden's handling of the virus - after the country kept bars and restaurants open while the rest of the world shut down in March.

'It's more of a lockdown situation - but a local lockdown,' Johan Nojd, who leads the infectious diseases department in Uppsala, told The Telegraph.

I'm sure hoping so. I'm now two months recovered, so my possible immunity days could be numbered.

I try to continue to take precautions, but my job gives me way more potential exposure than I would otherwise care to have, and every day I see people hand shaking, and not taking this thing very seriously.

Oh yeah, for two months now. I had a mild case and by my 10th day, when I was freed from isolation and quarantine, I felt almost 100%. That was August 15th.

I think I still had a slight cough that maybe lasted another week after that and I felt 100% since then. I'm just hoping it stays that way.

death graph shown looks inconsistent with other sources that have regular updates.
https://www.worldometers.info/corona...h-deaths-daily

seems like sensational media hype IMO, but i'm a fan of sweden's approach to handling COVID so i'm biased.

Agreed re: the graph, it's funky to say the least.

I like to go to the actual source

https://experience.arcgis.com/experi...a/page/page_0/

I assume infections are rising due to weather encouraging people to stay home. It also appears, they are maintaining appropriate protections with the elderly as ICU and deaths remain relatively flat comparatively.
