And any attempts to further litigate by the auto makers etc will be swatted away because this administration has apparently stacked the deck against them in order to push this through. I am basing this off the article Gabe linked to. No legal standing - BULLSHIT! With the help of this administration, they can bend the law any way they choose to achieve their agenda.

Really the only way to keep this thing in check is to NOT BUY THE SHIT. Do not put it in any of your cars, trucks, nothing. If the gas station operators do not see demand for the product, they will not carry it.

BTW, sent off letters to my so-called representatives and speaker Boehner. Like Budman and others said, gotta flood them with our concerns. Gotta try, anyway. I'm afraid that once this genie is out of the bottle, there will be no putting it back. Then what?

Thank you for contacting me regarding the mandate by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that all consumers purchase at least four gallons of gasoline from specified gas pumps after the new E15 ethanol-gasoline blend is introduced into the market. I appreciate the opportunity to learn your views on this issue.

According to a response to an American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) inquiry, the EPA explained that this mandate is an effort to mitigate both E15's extremely dangerous and destructive impact on small and off-road engines found in motorcycles, boats, and lawnmowers. This minimum mandate attempts to dilute residual amounts of E15, which will be left in the shared hose and pumped in to small engines, from having a disastrous effect on such engin es that are not approved for E15 use.

This mandate by the EPA appears problematic because one can certainly envision the situation where the motorcycle rider has less than a four- gallon tank or a where the canister for one's lawnmower only holds two or three gallons. With such scenarios in mind, it can be seen that this mandate, while it may have good intentions behind it, would ultimately prove to be unworkable.

Please be assured I will continue to monitor this situation closely and I will keep your views in mind should any related legislation come up in the committees on which I serve or for a vote in the House of Representatives.

California Air Resources Board says E15 ethanol-gas blend won’t appear in California for ‘years’

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The California Air Resources Board has told the American Motorcyclist Association that even if it approves the sale of the new E15 ethanol-gasoline blend in California, the blend wouldn’t appear in the market for several years.

CARB made the comment in response to a letter from AMA Vice President for Government Relations Wayne Allard, who expressed concern about potential misfueling of E15 into motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles. E15 is a gasoline formulation that contains up to 15 percent ethanol, and the federal Environmental Protection Agency hasn’t approved its use in motorcycles or ATVs.

this (banning IC motors) would be a humanitarian "disaster". If the middle east lost their income they would not be able to survive in the geographic environment they live. No food, no ac, massive death.

Won't happen. There is lots of petroleum (for now) and OPEC appreciates the value of keeping the price just low enough to make it the most profitable mode of transportation.

The very same people screaming about climate change are the same ones profiting from ethanol. Sure it is all about corn and other crops but the traction came from climate change.

Where are all the scientists and others when you want to dump ethanol added gasoline?
