Wont be going to Bear Valley either actually moving into our rental this weekend and looking forward to some normality again. It's been a crazy 6 months of unsure and quite frankly terrified moments. Pretty scary selling your home in the bay area thinking there's no way I could afford to buy her again at least not in the ideal location. Well we officially own 20.80 acres in Copperopolis now, cant wait to start building next year or maybe the year after. Bought a 2018 Sherco Factory 300 and yes it can be registered in Ca, gets issued a new Vin and like Luke did just for to the dmv. Luke the Scorpa and Shercos turn exactly alike they have identical frames the 2017"s had something different but the 18's are identical. We will have a comparison soon. Did you do the flywheel on the Scorpa ? Should have mine by next week or soon the following week. Cant wait to ride again, and host the French Trial !!

Whoo! so purdy...

No FFW, that's what the clutch is for! Interesting about the geometry, I wonder what is different between the two? You can see Sherco cast in my lower case so it aint the motor....

Get a sparky on order and we can go to your place for a day trip late Sept/early Oct! Got to break it in...

Congrats on the bike and the property Sid!! That is a beautiful bike, can't wait to swing a leg of it and the scorpa to see what the hype is all about.

Been doing more and more in the yard, finally hit the big log a couple of times. Been spending as much time as my quads will bear working on front hops. There really is a trick to the body position and pull back, soon.....

Bike still expected on Tuesday Sid? Bet you're fried after the move, the new bike will be a nice little reward for all the work.

That's awesome Luke, glad to hear your back on the bike. My trials body is going to be out of shape for sure. Bike should be here either today or tomorrow I hope looks like it was in SoCal last night. How disassembled are they when they crate them up?? Possible ride at our property this weekend if not to hot, need to break it in and get some gravel on the roads.

I just had to check fluids, install the bars and check for bolts being tight. Ron may have already done that for you, he normally does but since it got direct shipped to me I had to do it.

Not sure I can go all the way up to Copper this weekend, have a big thing for work next Thursday which may result in some weekend time. If I can pull it I will; if you want to ride here you can come over and play in the yard. You may want to do that anyways on Wed/Thurs just to run it in a bit, regardless of whether you go up or not.

Not sure if it'll be a bike weekend up there yet, mostly going up to install lock for gate, and to get the driveway graveled. Ron said the bike will be ready to go, cant wait it's been to long. Curious how I adapt back to the smokers.

Trials bikes are the man purse of the moto world. Easy to bring with you anywheres.....I often don't feel right if I'm driving my truck without my trials bike in the back...you just never know when you can ride so good to be equipped!

Well all.I can say is thank you elemetal you going over and talking to the freight guys really helped. And tga is again for the use of the fork lift. Well Ron and cycle center in Illinoise delivered as promised a sweet 2018 Factory Sherco 300 and so far I like it. Threw it together at Luke's shop then took o
It to his house for a quick spin around his awesome back yard setup for trials which is pretty sweet. Bike is nice and everything I expected now need to test it with my gear on a little.more then shorts work boots and no helmet. Luke's Scorpa was there for a comparison and other then small differences seem pretty much identical. Mine had a flywheel on it and Luke's not and that changed the biggest feel and I think the Scorpas may turn a little tighter too. All in all it was a good day thank you Luke !!

That is great news Sid! Are either of you guys going up to the next event?

I haven't touched my bike since Bear Valley but will try to get out mid week next week to Carnegie since red sticker will be open. Weather looks nice and cool for the 10/7 event

I can't make the Granite, have to do a girl scouts camp out with Penny....Really would like to go. I just checked and even after missing all these events due to the wrist I'm still in 3rd place for INT b!? Will have to do the Spooky just to stay on the board I think.

Had fun riding with Sid yesterday, his Sherco is pretty nice. It felt like the cockpit was a little smaller (maybe the pegs are a little higher?) and the front seemed more stiff/stable. We both felt like the Scorpa was more lively in the bars but that may be due to suspension, he hasn't done anything with it yet. Scorpa motor was noticeably more snappy but that could be the FWW or the ignition setting, mine is on sun, his wasn't hooked up so it could've been in either mode.

Both felt great, the Scorpa turns a little more tightly but not by much. After a few more hours we can do another side by side. One of these days we'll all be in the same place at once and can switch around!

Oh man oh man oh man where to begin, well first of yellow jackets rule the sky or at least their nest. Upon discovering new land we encountered a ground hive Matt 7 stings, Kelly I think about 10 to 12 stings, Francesca 7 to 10 stings and I being allergic none !! How did this happen or not happen. After a little settling down and Francesca and Kelly locked away in the truck for a while Matt and I began to explore and man oh man is there a lot to explore. We hit small stuff big stuff steep stuff jumped giant rain ruts and rode through a lot of cow shit. The property is great Matt's keen eye spotted a ton of Int and Adv stuff and said plenty of expert stuff as well. We rode two tanks of fuel and I was exhausted not being on the bike for four months and a new bike to add made me stiff and sore. The bike is awesome love it, think I'll pull the flywheel seemed to carry to much momentum up stuff maybe it was me used to a 4t and holding the throttle to long ?? Anyways cant wait.to go back up with a chainsaw to.clear the manzanita/oak tree hybrids damn those branches cut like a motha!!

Aside from the yellow jackets it sounds like a fun time, sorry I couldn't make it. Why is there cow piles? Someone grazing on your land!? We'll be making some regular trips up to "help" soon enough. I have a chainsaw so will lend a hand with the manzanita.

Great report!
