In the rest of the world (so far as I'm aware) the "cradle of civilization" is accepted to be Mesopotamia, which is not India.

I was surprised to learn about Mesopotamia. We are taught that all the other humans and languages of the world are decended from Vedic culture. It didnít make much sense to me growing up and I would ask my teachers how can the people of America, Australia, Europe, and Africa be descended from Indians? The teachers would just say itís in the Vedas so it must be true. Reading National Geographic articles about evolution really shocked me to find out humans all came from Africa.

Wow... you must have had some fucked up teachers. Our textbooks or teachers did not teach it like you were describing. What we were taught was consistent with globally ďacceptedĒ history of civilizations.
The textbooks must have rolled back to some black age shit since I went to school.

We had some fucked up teachings as we grew up too.
Just ask any Native American thier side of the story. It doesn't really line up with those history book drawings of the Pilgrims and the Indians sitting around the Thanksgiving table together all smiling.

I think it’s also very weird Americans call the Native Americans Indians still. Why the refusing to fix the mistake?

Think how confusing that is to DesiDucati

I think it's scandalous to teach children a warped view of history that glorifies the dominant ethnic group and glosses over its crimes and errors just to instill an artificial sense of patriotism in its poorly educated masses.

What they're teaching kids in Indian schools sounds pretty bad too.

They tried but once a motorcycle was named after them things got tricky.
It's a trademark thing. The Native American Scout just sat on showroom floors.
