Well, I had my three month checkup and the Doc was very please. "You're fully protected." I'm cleared to begin any exercise I want, with pain as the regulator. Ok to ride bicycles and motos (BUT NO CRASHING
![]() Super pleased that I'm up to five pushups and starting to bench press 80 pounds without pain. I can see this will be a slow process but happy that the bone implants knit and the rods and screws and apparatus are all functioning properly.

Well, following up a month later, everything continues to improve.
Neck pain is quite minimal, I'm riding 75 minutes every other day on the trainer ( about 1/3 of that on the bars, 2/3 sitting up with arms folded) trying to get my neck accustomed to being bent over. I'm close enough to that now that I'll be taking my second outside bicycle ride any day. The last one, a week or two ago, was super fun, but my neck hurt too much from riding on the bars, I only could ride a half hour. Weights and floor exercises continue, up to 80 pounds on the bench press, not much but it slowly increases every week, hoping to get back to my body weight, we'll see. Stepped up workout days to one day weights, one day bicycle, one day weights, one day bicycle, and one day off. Most days also get shoulder exercises with light weights to improve range of motion and flexibility. I'm happy with the outcome. ![]()
