So tempting, in a sick way. makes me think of my favorite Poe, from Imp of the Perverse how I am drawn to the insanity of a CR500...
"We stand upon the brink of a precipice. We peer into the abyss—we grow sick and dizzy. Our first impulse is to shrink from the danger. Unaccountably we remain. By slow degrees our sickness, and dizziness, and horror, become merged in a cloud of unnameable feeling. By gradations, still more imperceptible, this cloud assumes shape, as did the vapor from the bottle out of which arose the genius in the Arabian Nights. But out of this our cloud upon the precipice's edge, there grows into palpability, a shape, far more terrible than any genius, or any demon of a tale, and yet it is but a thought, although a fearful one, and one which chills the very marrow of our bones with the fierceness of the delight of its horror. It is merely the idea of what would be our sensations during the sweeping precipitancy of a fall from such a height. And this fall—this rushing annihilation—for the very reason that it involves that one most ghastly and loathsome of all the most ghastly and loathsome images of death and suffering which have ever presented themselves to our imagination—for this very cause do we now the most vividly desire it."

Don’t know that I’d equate the self-destroying draw of an abyss with a beastly dirbike from the 80’s...... but that IS an awesome excerpt!

A proper open class dirt bike. Tempting.
Though the Alta pulls just as hard at the bottom and you don't have to clean the air filter. Full throttle on a CR500 at 10K RPM is not to be missed though.

One of the dynamics of selling things into the bay area while being a located close, but still a few hours drive away, is that asking people to make the time investment to drive up and see it can leave them feeling like "meh.. too far". Where if the bike was a 10 min drive away you'd think "cool! I'm excited!"
So leveraging today's remote meeting climate - if you want to do a live walk around over Zoom et al we can do that and you "see" the bike live without making the trip. I'd just ask that you are seriously interested in the bike so as not to waste my time, fair no? If you just want to see it I can record a generic walk around and post it up somewhere for the lurkers, it's a cool bike Last edited by SonoraMike; 10-09-2020 at 07:35 AM.. |

From what I’ve seen in recent years, your price is beyond fair. Nice pictures always help sell things. I’d say if you need it gone soon, you need to get a wider audience. Have you tried SBR, cycle trader, or dare I say that shithole Craigslist?
I can help prepare you for Craigslist... hey BrO I got like a 2800 watt microwave, a 9”sub and my kid’s old huffy. I’ll trade that plus $29.75 CASH! HiT mEuP... Best of luck on the sale, super fun bike. |

SVJ and I have been looking at this and thinking we want to do something with that bike and mostly the motor. The only thing we can come up with is hurt ourselves. That seems to be the end result of each idea we came up with
