10 days yellowstone - BARF

Hello Everyone,

I hope you guys are kicking asses

I need help with my itinerary and I am sure there ll be some amazing suggestions

Plan : Fremont - YellowStone - Moab - DeathValley - Fremont
Date : 1st week of July
Days : 10 preferred, 12 MAX

I will ride my 08-connie again.
Riding solo and I would like to stay in hotels ( No camping for now )

I would ride death valley at about 5am and be out of there before noon and do that 2 days in a row. Spend afternoons soaking in a pool or riding up in the mountains.
If you have an adventure bike, it would be fun to ride up to the "playa" where the "racing rocks" are. I have not been there since I was a kid in my uncles 4x4 truck.
Since you have afternoons available, visit the bristlecone pine forest north of death valley. They are at about 7-8k' of altitude so it is cool there.
Yellowstone is a blast. Plan on spending at least 2 days riding around in the park and I recommend staying in the park for the nights as the speed limits and distances involved take hours to get around the park and there is a lot of things to see.
I also suggest spending the time to view and just soak in the magnificence of the Grand Tetons.
If you have the time, a white water rafting trip along the snake river coming out of Jackson, WY.
Great riding in the area between here and yellowstone include:
Craters on the Moon in southern Idaho
Hwy 12 between Missoula, MT and Lewiston, WA is a great ride.
Crater Lake, OR - great sights.
The three Sisters, OR area has lots of twisty roads
Hwy 395 in eastern Oregon an hour or two north and south of John Day. I really enjoyed that road, great sights, no traffic, boring road but everything around me was very serene and calm.
Lassen NP is also a great place to visit.

If you are that close, Beartooth pass should not be missed, from Red Lodge into the park. Park traffic is terrible, that was worth it.

Suggest you also hit up Glacier NP, instead of that slog through Nevada.

Death valley is best visited in late February through mid March. It is pretty as that is when the flowers cover the valley floor with beautiful colors and temps are in the 80s during the day and 50-60s during the nights.

Glacier NP is a great trip too!

If you have to do Yellowstone I suggest the eastern parts of the park. Traffic anywhere near the tourist areas is insane. People stopping in the middle of the road to look at a bison etc. My personal pick would be the Tetons. Crazy dramatic scenery, way less traffic. Plenty of hotels in Jackson Hole, although on the pricey side.
If you go, make sure to stop by the Western Wildlife Museum. Really good .

I think you can run Beartooth and turn southeast on good roads before the park.

Yup, Beartooth - Dead Indian Pass, takes you back to Cody without going through Yellowstone.

HUGE +1 to this. Play around with the exact routing if ya want, but definitely trade a little less Arizona for a lot more Southern Utah.

The best performance upgrade is upgrading the operating system of the operator. It is cheap, easy, fast, safe and works on every bike you will ever ride.
