On the fence for a new monkey, limited room in the back of my truck for my TW200 and bicycle.
Somehow I've got lust like I had for my '08 Hyper.

First one is a DB30 I bought that was in pretty rough shape but was cheap. Had a 212 Predator and a Coment TAV on it though so I grabbed it. It's my current project and very close to being done. I cleaned it up, painted it an annoying color and added a billet rod, billet flywheel, 22mm Mikuni, header and hydraulic brake. Also put some new tires and grips on it. The seat is the stock one from my CT200U project.
![]() You can see Abacinator's mini bike project sitting on the bench in the following pic. Gave him some of my stuff I didn't need so he could get started on a build. I believe his is a Cat frame and he's using the original GX200 clone that came out of my CT200U in it. ![]() My Coleman CT200U project. Not sure if I'd call it a CT200U anymore since the frame is the only original part and even it has been modified (with more planned). It's got a 212 Predator in it now and I'm planning on building it up to 16-20hp. I'll get going on it again once I finish up the DB30 in the previous pics. ![]() I bought this DB30 off a friend of mine. 10+ years ago he swapped a Lifan 125cc 4 speed setup into it. A clutch on a mini bike is weird. It's not that fast, but it's a ton of fun. Anyway, he did a terrible job on the welds/customization so a buddy from work is going to totally redo the whole thing for me. I'm on the fence about putting a Lifan 140cc engine into it. Not sure if that would require lengthening the frame. As it sits, the rear tire has to self clearance. This is my only one that is currently a rider. All I've done so far is put on new tires and fuck my foot up when it came out from underneath me when I was wearing sandals. ![]() I've got another DB30 frame sitting in the garage that will be getting a 5hp Briggs swap done. I'm not even going to start messing with it until these 3 are finished. Last edited by MR78-Strigoi; 04-12-2019 at 03:23 PM.. |

That's amazing. I've always wondered how the Monkey rides compared to the Grom.
You should install a big bore kit. |

Haven't tried a grom, I think this a bit shorter. Doesn't have buddy pegs.
I have faster bikes, it is the size that works for me, the load in the truck. Quiet, non scary, works for the older RV crowd. I'm seeing different side cases for this motor in different applications, wondering which one is fastest?
