Attention posters in Crash Analysis: a Warning - BARF

Hey guys, we love having you help each other out with the "what happened here" scenarios. It's a great tool for us all to learn from, those that make the mistakes and those that pontificate how that mistake was made. However, this forum is not a "loose" forum in how we'd like you all to participate. We have a strict rule to not insult, castigate, put down, embarrass (purposely), chastise, or otherwise bring any mal intent onto the original poster. We're here to help each other. This forum was formed to be strictly "business". Let's keep it this way please.

I've seen a few questionable comments/ posts that weren't needed. Tim, Mike, and I are enforcing this strictly.

Thanks for the help in this forum as well, all those that contribute!

I'd like to add that the Crash Analysis forum is, as the name implies about analyzing crashes in an effort to learn from our mistakes. Please do not post here if all you are doing is reporting a crash that you saw in person, read in a newspaper, or saw online (unless we are going to analyze the crash with the purpose of learning from it).

a lot of times the accident aren't in the paper or on the news. this is what the internet is for. to get information quick. reporting a crash and finding out if it was anyone from this forum or anyones friend isn't again what this bored is. its just a bunch of fellow riders figuring out if that person is okay.

Not in the Crash Analysis Forum.

The name of this forum says it all. If it's not Crash Analysis, if it is not analyzing a crash, then it doesn't belong here.

hey thats cool and everything but when i think of an accident ive seen i come here to see if there was anything reported on here. I think i speak for many others as well

I think that you are missing the point of the Crash Analysis Forum.

The Crash Analysis Forum is very clearly defined in its purpose of analyzing a crash. That's it. Figuring out the WHY of the crash, not the WHO.

If you want to see if someone crashed, feel free to browse the other BARF Forums. People frequently post 'I saw some bike laying on its side, was it a BARFer?' threads in the General Forum. You might just find it there.

Posting, or looking for those threads in the Crash Analysis is like posting or looking for them in the Humor Forum, or in the For Sale Forums. Would you look in those places?

I am sure a few have seen others misfortunes here and maybe.. just maybe something stuck and something else was avoided.

This forum was a hot topic debated before we added it. And yeah.. we need to keep it as intended.

We have decided to allow pruning of off topic posts as Bap said.

However; Wouldn't a "Witnessed a Crash" section be better than just stuffing everything in the general section? A thought.
