Seeking advice but not crash related.

This seemed like the best place to post this but please feel free to move it if necessary. This does get personal but I feel like I'm at the end of my wits and patience.
My situation isn't crash related. I've been having very minor but constant stomach pain and nausea (more like discomfort ) for about a month now. There's some other things I think are related I won't go into.

I'm very pissed off at the doctors at Kaiser ( my company's medical plan) for the seemingly lackadaisical attitude towards finding out what the hell is going on with me. They are finally going to set me up with a specialist but still feel I may have to go outside my medical system.
Does anyone know of anyplace that will take patients that are willing to pay out of pocket to get the test/exams they feel they need?

BTW while I was at Kaiser for my last appointment I asked to get prostate exam ( I'm over age 50). The response I got " we don't do prostate exams unless we symptoms of cancer" . Yeah never mind the fact that sometimes the symptoms don't show until the later stages. What the fuck.
Thank you
Mike

Drop that doctor and get a new primary.
I too have Kaiser, but I've had good experiences with them. Very informative and views all aspects of my health.

Already dropped the first doc and I'm on my second one who is getting me set up with the specialist. And my appetite still seems good I can still down 3 meals a day with no problem.

Thank you.

Mike, you need to see a Gastroenterologist at Kaiser. Likely do they’ll do scans and an endoscopy. Be as specific as you can in describing the pain, where and when it more severe.

Appointments can be hard to get in December as many people want to get serviced on this year’s deductible.

As for the PSA, extensive studies have shown that they’re really not that good at identifying precancerous cells. They can miss what’s there and just as often come up with false-positive results leading to biopsies or other invasive surgery or chemo when it’s later to be found not to be a malignancy. So while they may have seemed flippant about it, they’re following the new guidelines. The other tests are more accurate with fewer false-positives. If you’re insistent, ask to see a urologist there.

I had a recent bout with diverticulitis and it was only found with a MRI.
Target thought it might have been colon cancer originally.

Demand the poop chute pics.
Email complain, demand and repeat.

Best

Thanks Bob and Burman for the responses. Yes they are setting me up with a Gastroenterologist . We'll go from there . I shall demand the set the poop pics and all the others. And I've done a lil research since my first post it turns out that PSA isn't even accepted in Europe due to its inaccurate readings

Supposed to be getting a call from Kaiser to set me up with the gastroenterologist. Still waiting on them.

I can tell you , that is incorrect about prostate , I had my first one in my early 40's - mostly due to family history I believe , but my Dr. at Kaiser this was one of the first things she recommended.

When I turned 50 Kaiser insisted I have a pooper movie made. Got to watch the whole thing on a Hi Def TV too. When the air they pumped into my gut wasn't making me cry....

So an update. I had the colonoscopy done yesterday and that all looks good. I thought they were going to knock me out but they simply sedated me. Got to watch it on the big screen. So we're going from there.
