I take care of the sick and wounded all day at work. I'd still be happy to leave work and do the same for a rider in need. Heavy transfers and icky medical stuff is what I do, so don't be shy (however, administering fancy pain killers is above my paygrade, so keep that in mind). I can also teach your SO to move your busted ass around without hurting themselves if needed.

I'm in the South Bay.

Something to keep in mind.

Many people have trouble asking for help no matter how much it's needed or how willing the offers. Those who are the first to help others will very often be the last to ask for help themselves. You know who you are.

If you know someone that is 'less able' in some way then, from time to time, just show up with food, an outing, fill in the blank, etc. [yes call first, but go by and see them] Ask when their next medical visit is and tell them you can provide transport that time and so on.

If you've had the misfortune to be badly injured and the good luck to recover well you know what I mean. You can remember the kinds of things for which you couldn't ask for help.

i can say if anyone can do anything to help one on the mend please do so.

30 years back spent 14 months in a cast (only let out to fit a leg brace).
2 and 1/2 years out of work.
took 9. yes NINE months and two times on the table before the Dr said i could keep the leg. there was talk about cutting one bone out of the right leg and grafting into the left leg even. if any soft tissue had been damaged, the Dr would not have even tried to save the leg.

so i had none to help me and it is needed, and very much underachieved.
so if any in the stockton, ca. area let me know and i will do what i can.
just i do not do windows. i can turn a clean one into a streaked one. very easily.

I have a truck, a Costco Card and make tasty sammies and my Movie selections is 95% Action - SciFi. I work in Belmont and live in Oakland so PM me if you need help. Alternately if you know of someone and they are needing help, PM one of us to make it a movie day thing and we could go in together.
I am thinking it may be a very awkward thing to post to someone you have never met and ask for help...

I'm in. Suburban, Costco, trailer hitch, and unemployed (unless Uncle Sam tells me to come in & get chit done).

Here for y'all.

Oh, and SWMBO gave me a 7-quart crockpot for Christmas, and I make goooood food with it. Just made chicken/garlic/bruschetta/garlic dinner yesterday, very yum. And shepherd's pie (lamb) & cottage pie (beef) are a specialty.

I should have read this thread the day before I went in the hospital (May 8th, date of your post) 'cause I would have begged for one of your Shepherd's pies.
