Turkey thighs. One per person. Cheap to buy, fall-off-the-bone yummy to eat.

Layer bottom of crock pot with onion slices. Salt and pepper (fresh ground) the thighs and add. Add unpeeled new potatoes. Add chicken broth to almost cover everything. Cook on high 1 hour, low another 7 hours or so.

Serve with your choice of green veggie and dry white wine.

What a great thread. I love my crock pot.

3 lbs of stew meat
potatoes
onions
carrots
garlic
2 cups of water / or red wine.
season well with Creole seasonings.

Cook on low while you go to work.

Does anybody have a Ninja? Seems an expensive way to sear meat before slow cooking it, but supposedly it also functions as a deep fryer too.

8 hours later, when you pull the shank out, the meat just falls off. Yum.

Easy adobo (gf recipe):

1 chicken cut up (or cubed breast meat, or thighs) half cup soy sauce, half cup white vinegar, one head of garlic cloves (bang em up but no need to chop em), black pepper (whole corns or ground), bay leaf. Low for 6-8 hrs.

I don't but have looked at it - I don't think they recommend using it as a deep fry
you can find it for as low as 125 which isn't bad

it's just a slow cooker with a metal pot

My sister does this:

1 Bottle Pace Picante Salsa
1 Bottle Grape Jelly
Meatballs

Dump everything in the crock pot, cook.

I like using Italian beef meatballs, but I've had good results with turkey meatballs too.

I brought it to a BARF Jam before. I didn't hear any complaints. But I think it qualifies as simple and easy.

Orange Juice.. FUCK That's what I've been forgetting.

fwiw: Mine was same as above, minus the jalapeno and orange juice apparently.

My fav: Puor 1 jar of Trader Joe's salsa and a pack of Taco seasoning into Crock Pot, add package of deboned organic breasts of chicken, cook on low. Done.
Pro tip - use chicken with bones on it - you'll need to fish the bones out later, but after all that cooking, the bones just fall right off. And you get the flavor from the bones & connecting tissue.

Or you can skip the mess. Toss in Chicken Stock or bouillon cube.

I wonder how it would work with sour oranges. Might give it an interesting flavor

I'm totally stealing Adam's recipe to have in the pot while picking up family at the airport after work.
