Regardless of your feelings, your arms will be 2 inches longer after you flog the first on-ramp.

No arm-stretch on the SDR, cuz the front wheel is only on the ground til you let the clutch lever halfway out.

How do you think your arms get stretched? It's from trying to hang on to that 11 o'clock wheelie!

Looks can be deceiving, apparently:

KTM 1290 SuperDuke R: 4.8 pounds per LB-FT of torque
Ducati Multistrada 1200S: 6.5 pounds per LB-FT of torque
BMW S1000XR: 6.7 pounds per LB-FT of torque

If KTM can keep the SuperDuke GT's weight to, say, 540 pounds it's going to combine the power-to-weight ratio of the S1000XR with a torque-to-weight ratio that splits the difference between the SuperDuke R and the Multistrada 1200S (= 5.6 pounds/lb-ft). If KTM's semi-active suspension can come close to the Multistrada's Skyhook, I might have to think about a trade-in...

Problem is I still love my RT as much as the day I bought it, the honeymoon hasn't ended. But I want a new bike. Fack.
Ant I am reading between the lines here but since you love your rt still but desire the S (faster, lighter, sportier.....and then some....) have you test ridden the R1200rs? It is a phenomenal bike and admit i'm jonesing for it big time but so out of my ball park financially.

Sat on one and the ergos are just a tad too sporty for me. I'm spoiled with the upright riding position which is one of the reasons I love my RT. That RS is a badass bike though!

The RS sounds like a good idea. Ergos felt too stretched out to me. I'll stick with the R. If the RS isn't exactly what you're looking for, maybe look at the R too.

Anyone want a gently-used high mileage 2013 MST1200?
