I hate that style of high pipes. But it is otherwise a beautiful bike.

Yeah but Harley will screw up the dimensions somehow, just like they did on the xr1200x...

If Indian releases this FTR in 750, I am in...

This may not be an FTR but it is an Indian 750.

Of course that would be tough on tracks, with mostly lefts.
Just run in the opposite direction, problem solved. Of course you'd have to get everyone else to go along with that plan.

That is one good looker though. Maybe just another hour spent on the design and routing of the exhaust though, looks rushed and just added on.

If Indian wants to build a flat track replica then why make changes. They know what their 750 racer looks like. Anyway not a reason for me to not like the bike but stuff like that seems to show the shortcuts the company makes. Would love the FTR 750 or this 1200 either way.

The HD factory XG750R race bikes have the exhaust exit on the right side so its not an issue which side the pipes exit for flat track.

ah! - so that's what the problem's been
so it oughtta be an EZ fix to H-D's weak [so far] FT program

as if! consider how inappropriate the XG is for FT use
& how much the storied V&H crew has done to get it this far.....

Holy Shit! Indian is really building an FTR1200 production bike for the street. And you can enter to win one. (And, yes, I've already entered)

https://www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/

Quote:
Indian Motorcycle confirms production of FTR™ 1200 & gives consumers the chance to win one of the first bikes off the production line

Plans announced for new flat track-inspired street bike, with on sale date in 2019; Global Sweepstakes provides consumers the chance to win their own.

Indian Motorcycle has put months of public speculation to rest. Today, at the Wheels & Waves festival in France, the iconic American motorcycle company confirmed that an FTR 1200, inspired by Indian’s storied history in flat track racing, will be going into production.

While a formal release date has not been set, plans point toward the bike going on sale in 2019.
