Maybe Rossi's problem isn't him, but his crew? He's evolving to the new era of riders (riding style) but his crew isn't evolving with him and the M1.
exactly. tuning the electronics on these bikes, even w/ the spec ECU, is not a one man job. there might be 2-3 ppl that make suggestions during a session. but in between sessions and especially in between days/weekends, all the data is sent back to the factory where a team of engineers looks it over and proposes solutions. having one guy working at Duc many years ago doesn't mean squat for todays electronics.

right now, we know that HRC and Duc have the most technical expertise w/ the current software. Duc's expertise supposedly comes from the spec software being largely based on their previous software. HRC's expertise comes from recent large investments including poaching software engineers from I don't remember where. Yamaha is lagging behind because they prob havent done what HRC did and don't have Duc's previous knowledge. the other factories might also be lagging behind for similar reasons.

Guess they want someone they can kick out at the end of the year for Jonas to come back and still get a ratings increase.

BGP is getting back into the swing of things. here our thoughts about the Chang test below

Jorge’s Headgame and an Inconsistent Yamaha - Ep. 84

GP bikes were on track for the first time in Thailand and BrotoGP is back to full strength. This episode we bring all the racing chatter you want from the Chang test - and a bunch you didn't want - along with a little mention of the Sepang test. We were supposed to start this one on the new flurry of winglets, but Kev had something else in mind. We do still manage to get a little technical on winglets. Then we jump into what everyone has been asking about... the complaints and woes of Jorge, Mav, and Rossi. Duc is going well for everyone but Jorge. Mav can't figure anything out with the 2018 M1 chassis and wants an old one. And Rossi is mostly complaining about software. After all that, we cover the reason why Change was so packed - Hafizh Syahrin and Tech3. There's some talk about HRC. Then we finish this one off with listener questions again.

Tech3 is breaking up with Yamaha after 20 years.

https://www.motorcyclenews.com/sport...ha-after-2018/

That doesn't help Yamaha at all, certainly not with their current shit bike syndrome.

The writing has been on the wall for the past few months, but does this mean that a vr46 satellite team is in the works for 2019? will tech3 start fielding zooks? ktm? maybe kawk finally returns to the series?

Well this is good for Tech3 for sure, KTM or Suzuki probably made an offer that Herve couldn't reject (money and technology). Also a big win for whoever Tech3 is going to join, they have 20 years of experience working with one of the top.
For Yamaha - big loss, but, a very good opportunity for VR46 academy to take that spot.

My money is on KTM/Tech3 deal.

KTM has a lot of asses in seats and they've said time and again they want to grow riders. This gives them a good place to put a couple more riders and buy a big name, like Marquez, to sit in the #1 seat.

What the field really needs is more satellite Ducs, so I’m holding out hope for that with Tech 3.....

if we've learned anything from past years, contracts don't meant shit and Rossi & Dorna don't follow rules.
