Bay Bridge Breakfast Barfing: Shamrock Edition 3/2/18

February flew by and this Friday is already March. So, time for the BBBB...

What: Stop on your commute for coffee and hang time with fellow Bay Bridge moto-commuters.
Where: Treasure Island, at the parking spaces on the water across from the little convenience store.
When: This Friday 3/02/18, as long as you can stay between 7-9am. Or whatever. The bulk of people seem to get there between 8 and 9. Even if you end up there by your lonesome, it's a nice way to start your Friday.

If you're fancy, people bring good coffee and right proper snacks, but if you're a deadbeat like me Surj, the little convenience store has coffee too, which was good enough in the salad days of the BBBB. Bring something tasty and everyone will love you forever.

I've been a total flake with these and it looks like we'll have a little rain on Friday, but I should be there around 8:15 AM this time.

Oooooh. I haven’t been to one of these in ages. I’ll see if I can make it up there on Friday.

I thought they opened a temporary shack inside the carpark, but I didn't see it this past Saturday.

That's what happens when fancy people bring their own coffee instead of supporting local businesses.

Funny, the so-called low brow folk never say no to fancy coffee. They never say thanks either. Weird.

Nooooooooooooooo!!!! RIP shack of terrible coffee.

Well, I'll bring coffee, milk, sugar, and Splenda. Probably also some sort of baked good.

Both of those statements are (edit to be nice) not true.

Lol. I bring coffee to share among friends, even ‘silently-grateful’ friends. I share without any expectation of gratitude. But do remember those that constantly say thanks and those that don’t. The snarky ones that gratuitly throw words aimed to bilittle me, they don’t say thanks. Weird. And I still call them friends and will continue to gladly buy them coffee. Break bread, metaphorically, it’s a wonderful experience. You should try.

This is getting weird, but frankly, not inconsistent with your behavior elsewhere on BARF lately.

Look. When Dan and I started this long ago, it was a simple thing, for our fellow moto-commuters on the bridge. It's cool that it grew, that more people came out enjoy each others' company, and brought food and coffee. I've done that quite a bit myself, in spite of your bullshit "you should try" dig.

I honestly can't tell if your passive-aggressive comment is directed at me, someone else, or both... whatever. But since you seem to be butt-hurt about something, I'll point out that I've been making my dumb little "if you're fancy" joke for months, if not years, and the banter in this thread is just riffing on that—from Beks swapping in my name to the obvious sarcasm in my comment that this event led to the demise of the little shop there. Duh.

But since you put such a fine point on gratitude, thank you for inspiring me to waste the time it took to type this.

So, ummm, this is a fun gathering with fun folks. Every time I have brought coffee, I felt that people were appreciative. I am certainly stoked with folks show up with tasty baked goods, too.

See you kiddies on Friday.
