MotoAmerica 2018 - Round 10 Alabamy Sept 21-23

MotoAmerica season finale and the retirement weekend for the affable and always quotable Roger Hayden. Thanks for the laps and the laughs Rog.

Superbike, Supersport, Junior Cup and Superstock championships are all wrapped up. I don't know where Buford finds the points standings on the MA website so I'm not sure about the Twins Cup championship. Should be a good weekend at this excellent track. MotoAmerica says they have a record number of entries.

Only 2 points separate 1st, Chris Parrish, and 2nd, Jason Madema. So it's gonna be winner take all for the 'ship on Sunday.

I feel like I'm out of the loop on some type of news. Is there a rumor that there will be NO Yamaha factory team next season?

Thanks for the update on the Twins points.

Rumors are that Graves is pulling out of 600 supersport entirely and may scale back Superbike to fielding only one rider. Just rumors so far but lack of announcements from Beach and Beaubier about 2019 plans give the rumors some weight.

That is going the wrong way for the series.

Apparently Yamahas U.S. sales are down significantly. Yamaha Motor Company U.S.A. is moving from Southern California to Georgia.

It should be an obvious statement that California is an expensive place to operate a business. The state isn’t known as being a tax haven for corporations, the property values are high, which means buildings are expensive, and the standard of living for Los Angeles is one of the highest in America, which means that employees have to be paid a premium as well.
Pay attention, California. Yamaha was here before anyone.

They have been the biggest supporters of the U.S. series since the recession, when Suzuki and Honda went away. Not nice.

Wyatt Ferris will pilot the TSE Racing supersport effort this weekend:

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/...orsports-park/

The article says "First and foremost TSE Racing would like to thank Cory West for his efforts this season. We completely understand and back his decision that he made at New Jersey Motorsports Park." I don't know what his decision was?

Corey West decided to end his season at NJMP. Details in the linked article.

Ah, missed that one, thanks. I remember earlier in the season when he was trying to raise funds to ride that 3rd place championship high.

Prob 80% chance Graves won’t have a 600 on the grid next year

Explain the relationship between Yamaha Factory Racing and Graves Motorsports. Can you not have one without the other?

I feel the same way. If I had to guess... we know that there’s generally one thing that can override someone’s passion for the sport - a lack of $$
