It's not always only about you bro, it's about many barfers, too.

Damn right some people care. I care. Sears contracted some of the best valued products available with Kenmore and Craftsman. In addition, they had work boots and other home furnishings at good value, also. They brought the world to everyone with their catalogues and along with Montgomery Wards, were the everyman's giant mercantile for decades. It was a long time before I could afford Craftsman lifetime tools, and they were still cheaper than Snap-on with equal performance. I have Kenmore Appliances that are 30 years old, Craftsman Garden tractors that are 20 years old, and tools that are even older. Great value.

Eddie Lampert bought Sears and Kmart for the property. He didn't understand retail, but saw huge value in the underpriced properties. He screwed the whole deal. Given the chance, I am pretty confident I could have salvaged much more from the resources. He is a hedge-fund raider that screwed Sears in my opinion. I am not surprised that the judge won't let him buy the operation from himself, again.

Yeah I agree, Sears was a fairly decent store. Good tools, some decent clothing. Generally good value.

I bet he understood it plenty well. Lets not forget his goal is making money, not running Sears.

I am kinda meh on Sears going away, most of what they sold was the kind of stuff I would way rather order on line. Brick and mortar is good for trying things on and specialized stuff where the staff can be helpful, but otherwise I will do anything I can to not go shopping.

America’s largest internet store is so big, and so bewildering, that buyers often have no idea what they’re going to get.
Unfortunately it is posted in a thread about Sears but..it was mentioned here.
It's still a pretty good article including the explanation of buttons muddling the product sold
