They should. Duracell paid me for a new Mini mag when their battery leaked.

Curious what their reasoning was? Did they determine it was operator error ?

The fact they sent me a new battery. and i jumped through all the hoops. test the charging system. Draw on the battery. and they said at the first that they would take care of the damage. but I got moved up the chain and this gal said all they would do is send a new battery and I was lucky that they did that. So she said. "I'll do it this one time only". Didn't / don't like it. leaves a bad taste. the thing that pisses me off there is nothing on there web site that warned you.

Sorry if I'm being pesky, but I'm genuinely curious (as I have an AntiGravity battery right now sitting on my shelf that I purchased from SBTG last week) what the problem was. Did they determine that it was a faulty battery, or something wrong with the bike's charging system? And, if it was in fact a faulty unit, why they reversed their decision to pay for damages caused by said faulty product? I'm in agreement with you that it leaves a bad taste.

I'd expect them to pay for the new battery which they did.

Paying for the damage to the bike is not so cut and dry. For all they know, there was something wrong with the bike that caused the fire. Charging system, short, whatever. They can't know. Thus, I can see a company being reticent to pay for damages.

That said, they could have bent over a bit more to help out in some way.
