Hella Potholes !

I didn't get slammed but I'm seeing lots of new whammo holes opening up and some close calls.

Stay sharp out there.

Eastbound (uphill) Panoramic, from Shoreline to Pan Toll mostly in the tree-lined hillside, has heavy ruts in the right third of the lane.

Yeah potholes always get so bad after it rains. Does California pave roads with caramelized sugar?

Winter riding goat path fun...

There's four pothole in front of you as you approach on the gas from a blind curve. They are all filled with water. One is deep. Three are not. Which one do you choose to hit?

I was in South Africa last month and some of the highways had pristine pavement with sweeping turns and the occasional 1 foot deep pothole! Saw some nice bikes riding the highways, but I'm sure not at night!

When those potholes fill up with rainwater they become potentially dangerous as Hell. #HellaDangerous.
Add to that, darkness, oncoming headlights, fogged-up visor.... and it's like a horror show.

Yep. Seen a few new ones on the way to work since it's been raining this week.

There's a website for that:

https://csr.dot.ca.gov/

In my experience, they're usually filled in within a couple days.
