Lightbulb Private TD 10/11 Thill East

Edit: Minor update, Catalyst cannot make the event due to an issue with their RV. GP Frame and Wheel will take the torch for suspension tuning.

Approved by Budman

Hi everyone, I'm organizing another private track day. I am not a business or a provider, just a guy who listened to a bunch of friends who wished they could have a low key event with much less traffic.

This will be the 3rd event I've hosted. Full flagger staff, EMS, etc. on duty, power in the paddock, and camping the night before is allowed, Thunderhill Grill will be open.

Format will be almost entirely open. 9:00-9:30 will be sighting laps and follow-the-leader laps for "novice" riders. 9:30-4:30 is open track time. 4:30-5:00 is reserved for "advanced" riders only since we took away a half hour earlier in the day.

Early bird pricing ends on Monday the 13th for the 10/11 private track day (open format) at Thunderhill East. $295 goes up to $350. Spots are limited to ~45 riders total.

Service Provicers: Race Pace Motorsports for Michelin tires and parts, and GP Frame and Wheel for suspension tuning.

This is cool. What exactly is open track time? You mean perhaps A/B/C riders share the track?
Thanks,

Well, there are no groups. I only have the novice folks separated so I can limit the number of slower riders on track. So partially, yes, everyone is on track together. However, realistically, it's very difficult to ride more than 30-40 minutes at a time so there's a natural ebb and flow to the track traffic. That is why during the rider's meeting, I recommend novice riders use the first half hour and the more advanced riders use the back half hour. That way, you're allowed to go out any time, but there's an expectation. If you're a faster rider going on in the first half hour, you should expect to encounter traffic. If you're a slower rider going out the back half hour, you should expect for faster riders to fly by you. This helps to ensure a safe riding atmosphere while giving you nearly unlimited track time. Also, limiting the attendees to 45 riders is significantly less than a typical track day.

The best track day I ever attended was a private shop hosted open track event, and it had no services. But it was worth every penny. This sounds like a lot of fun, with camping and services.
