I went to Eastbay back in June . Wanted to get my valves checked. Got quoted 700+ even after I brought in all the parts.

1 week later they didn't do anything to the bike. It was to nice to not ride so I picked up the bike and tried again later. Also had other issues I wanted them to look at which was deemed "tech can't find anything"

Fast forward to September I took the bike to Fremont Kawasaki and they were able to check my valves , install missing screws , and only had to pay 400$ out the door. I could have probably done the check myself but it was worth the 400 to have a shop do it.

300$ cheaper than Eastbay. But I think it's just the district that they have to ramp the rate .

Am I missing something here??
What does a difference in shops Hayward to Fremont have to do with price?

I used to have a friend who worked at EBMS. He told me that the owner was really paranoid. Didn't trust his own employees that he hired. Had security cameras placed where he could watch his people and routinely accused them of theft.
Doesn't sound like a great work environment. All I know is that I went down there and asked about a simple job and was quoted an outrageous price.

I would say that the difference between the two dealerships comes from the top. I can't speak for EBMS, but I can say that Edddie Benson the owner of Fremont Honda / Kawasaki is good guy. I did a lot of business with him when he owned Fremont Cycle Salvage on Dusterberry Way (before opening the current dealership). Eddie has always been very friendly and honest guy from my experience. I've been over to the current dealership a few times and he always gets up from his desk and greets me. He's just a straight up nice friendly guy and runs a good shop.

i will never do business with EBMS ever. they overcharged for everything and the dealer prep and shipping charges are unreasonable. shop another dealership.

I wonder if EBMS is aware of their horrible reputation, or do they just not care ?
