Palo Alto huh??.. I did not get the invite.

Cool stuff John.

It does seem like a great spectator track as far as viewing.
Better Moto3 track than MotoGP track.

Glad you enjoyed it!

it was awesome, so glad to have seen Moto3 at Valencia ... we saw the crux of the MotoGP race unfold in Turn 1 when #20 lost traction in the exit an #93 pounced for the lead in Turn 2 ...

We spent the day in Valencia yesterday with a ton of other MotoGP tourists, and visited The Metropolitan Cathedral–Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady of Valencia, where we lit a candle and said a prayer for your family’s recent increase ...

They keep the Holy Grail in the Valencia Cathedral:

the chalice used at the Last Supper is behind the priest in the pic ... it’s said that the Visigoths worshiped in this spot 2000 years ago, then the Muslims and they began the cathedral at the end of the 12th century and finished it 750 years later.

The Republicans, friends of liberty and democracy, burnt the place in the 1930s, as the Catholic Church was, unfortunately, allied with the Nationalist and fascists ... in any event, it was restored, which is why it’s in such fine shape today ... had fun contemplating the flow of human history and the nature of compassion and mercy.

we’re off south today towards Granada ... have eight days to return to Portugal ...

I thought the Holy Grail was a movie? Motorcyclist with international culture, what will we think of next!
Enjoy your reporting John, I’m looking forward to tales of the road.

Oh man! I knew from my day ride on the outskirts of Barcelona that Spain would make for a killer week long sport touring trip.
Your report so far pretty much confirmed everything that I'd suspected

enjoying your Pakistan 2019 Ride Report ... had sort of the same experience with being inspired to finally get and use a passport and travel outside of teh USA ... was out of my comfort zone, until my wife said “you know, you can ride motorcycles there.”

Islamabad and visas are still a bit out there for me so we’ll see ...

we spent two nights in Granada and toured La Alhambra today ... looks like some rain riding for us tomorrow ... mucho frio!

Hi Christian!

the trick was to be spontaneous, and then decide to spend three weeks here ...

in the event, the rain mostly held off and it was much warmer that forecast, so we had a good ride today through the Sierra de las Nieves mountains and down into the town of Ronda where we have an AirB&B for two nights.

Ronda is the town in Chapter 10 of Mr Hemingway’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls” ... we’ll go see the famous gorge tomorrow ...

Well read and cultured!! I’m sure you know John that the road pictures move Spain up the bucket list. Almost regret not finishing Hemingway.

rained pretty good yesterday, so our non-riding day in Ronda was perfectly planned ... weather blew through and today we had a beautiful ride to Seville.

heading into Morón de la Frontera ...

a map of our 300 miler a few days ago when we left Valencia and rode to Granada:

Seville was really hopping this evening ... fun town, lots of young people.

Portugal was already on the short list of wish list trips, Spain has been added. Thanks for taking us along.
