meanwhile, things are already starting to get heated in the yamaha garage. Vinales throwing shade in Rossi's direction. Sounds like he's super unhappy with the bike so far

Quote:
"I try to get my Yamaha to work for me. I can not ride with someone elses bike because I don't pilot like that. I'll concentrate on my things. In 2017 I focused a lot and the bike worked. This year we try to share a little more (the data) and maybe it is not going so well."

Honestly, this year i want to see Miller and Petrux kick ass. Pramac have two of the most likable guys on the grid, they just need some results this year.

my wishlist for this year:
-Rossi to be competitive
-Team Pramac to get some solid results
-Zarco continues his good form and Syahrin throws together some respectable races
-Jorge to struggle even more, becoz schadenfreude
-Dani to announce his retirement

After the Thai test, that could change for Jorge....guy is just not improving on the Ducati and for his own sake, he should try to get a Japanese bike.
That's completely Gigi's fault. He failed to provide Jorge a bike that he could win on. A Yamaha.

Zarco seems to be of the same opinion and has followed some advice:

Quote:
Nico Goyon, crew chief to Hafizh Syahrin, told us 1st thing he says to new rider is: this bike needs to be ridden as Lorenzo rode it. Zarco clever enough to recognise this. "It's the way to go fast w/M1 & I think JL's the one to have perfection, so I'm trying to understand this."

HRC testing out a carbon fiber swingarm. man, i love carbon frame components so much. i wish Rossi never put an end to the Ducati development of that CF frame.

I'm not rooting for it, or reveling in it. From the articles out there Vinales isn't happy with the Rossi designed M1 and they have more electronics woes.

Yeah. Sounds like both riders are unhappy.

Guess we will see how things stand in three weeks. edit; not that Qatar is the greatest indicator.

Everyone said Honda was fucked at the beginning of 2016 but a lot can change in a season.

Mav's comments on the Thai test were interesting. Especially this part:

From MotoMatters
Quote:
This wasn't a rider problem, Viñales insisted. "As a rider, physically I'm 100%, I'm concentrated, when the bike is there, I can do a good lap, good rhythm, I just give my best every time I go on the track." What was it he wanted from the bike? "My request is to have the bike I rode the first time I rode the Yamaha. To have this feeling. I just jumped on the Yamaha, and it was a totally different feeling to right now."
I guess Mav wants Lorenzo to set up the bike for him.

Send Rossi to Honda to fvck up the bike for Marquez and everyone will be happy ........ except Pedrosa. He has a growing track record.

Honestly, I can't blame Mavericks problems all on Rossi. I always thought MV was a false front man. He just can't adapt as fast as other riders, like MM. JLo seems to suffer a similar problem. If JLo can't beat Dovi a couple of times this year, then he should pack-it-up and move to WSBK, or do an Elias and race here. Can you imagine the rout. No offense to our fine American sportsmen, but it is still Lorenzo.

What has been bothering me about the electronics issue is the fact Rossi had his buddy (Matteo Flamigni) with him at Ducati. Ducati has always been a Magnetti Marelli shop, so why is Rossi having issues in his box with the software?
Could this vanilla software really be that different if the core software and architecture all be Magnetti Marelli?

Maybe Rossi's problem isn't him, but his crew? He's evolving to the new era of riders (riding style) but his crew isn't evolving with him and the M1.

Wasn't this the reason that he dumped Burgess? And it seemed to have helped him change his style and be more competitive.

Perhaps it is him, though. He can throw a lot of popularity weight around. Sometimes, people forget that not all star athletes make good coaches. And not all fast vehicle racers are good vehicle designers. :shrug
