beginner 600 sport bike wanted - $3k-4k

lookin for a beginners 600 sports bike. looking for a scratch and dent kinda deal. i KNOW im going down somewhere down the line...i just dont want to go nuts when a immaculate, $5k bike with mods just got f'ed up by me.

must haves:
- CLEAN TITLE
- year 2000+
- 20k miles or less (flexible if a little more)

preferred:
- r6/cbr
- frame sliders
- good tires (50%+)

Perks:
- blue
- light mods (yea, who doesnt prefer them...but stock is perfectly fine)
- fender eliminator kit
- steering damper

again, minor imperfections is something im going for and willing to oversee, however, im not looking for naked bikes or bikes with moderate rashes all over.

At least you're realistic about price v. condition of the bike. Some newbies come around thinking they can buy a clean and incident free bike for $3000. GL in your searching and safe

What's a "beginners" 600cc sport bike? I've never heard of these.

Its where you buy a ninja 250 and the other 350cc come in a complementary vodka bottle after I drank 400cc's out of it.

I have an 07 R6, 10,000 miles coming next week, rideable with cosmetic damage only but it is a salvage title. You can see it before I do any work to it to see the damage before repairs commence.
Not what I would call a beginners bike but I thought I would throw it out there.

Yamaha FZR. But that's not gonna meet his year 2000 + requirement.

Sorry Nick, I'll never recommend a true n00b (as in someone that has zero dirt experience or any true practice on the street other than MSF...if they even have that) ride a 600 sportbike. If you're a bigger rider, the Ninja 500R is still better than a 600 reproduction race bike.

We aren't crapping on your thread. All too often forum newbies post wanting 600cc sportbikes as BEGINNER bikes. We're concerned about you. We know nothing about your skill or experience and you're asking for a 100 crank horsepower motorcycle.

Meh. Worked for me. I have a moderately well developed sense of self preservation though. Funny how a bike that was an insane screaming death machine 17 years ago is now almost laughably slow. I'm almost afraid to think how fast a 2025 Yamaha R6 is gonna be. :|
