Mopeds at OHV Park

So I got a weird question not sure if this should be in the LEO forum but is it legal to ride a plated moped in a OHV park like Metcalf or Hollister? There is a bike I'm interested in and it's registered as a moped. I know they have to pay registration and insurance so is it like riding a dual sport that can't go over 30MPH on the legal roads?

I got a moped question in general also. If you are riding this on public roads you aren't suppose to exceed 30mph but you can't use bicycle lanes? Is that right? That sounds kinda dangerous to me and in 35+ zones you'll be holding traffic up. Hopefully it's multilane road.

Haha well the bike is totally capable of going over 30mph just LEGALLY it's limited to 30mph because it's a "moped"

But yeah turbo busa solves all the problems

When you say moped are you talking about a 1970's era moped with pedals that you sit on like a bicycle/motorcycle or a scooter that you sit on more like a toilet?

Yes, you can ride them (either) at any ohv park, I have.

If it is a moped you'd have better luck getting specific info from the FB group East Bay Moped Riders or the SF Creatures of the Loin also check out mopedarmy.com. If it's a toilet then I can't help you

Nah its not really a moped it's an ebike that is titled as one. It has all the street lights and a switch that limits its power, it doesn't need the pedals because its electric I think.

street legal motorcycles like dual sports and adventure bikes are legal to ride at OHV parks like Hollister Hills. I suspect your bike would be allowed at Metcalf as well and OHV parks.

The best performance upgrade is upgrading the operating system of the operator. It is cheap, easy, fast, safe and works on every bike you will ever ride.

You can call Metcalf and ask for a ranger. They can tell yoy for real what the rules are. Also, what they allow.
