Ok serious answer (that I have repeated one million times on this forum):

Going on a ride for fun: All the gear
Going on the highway/commuting: All the gear (I have slacked on occasion)
Riding in town as transportation: No riding pants, but everything else.

You meant knee pads right? I don't have no pucks on anything but my leather one piece. I only wear that on the track.

What the hell is all the gear? I commute in touring boots, pants, and jacket. On track or twisties I trade that for race boots, leathers, back protector. Some racers would say that's not ATG because I don't have on an inflatable vest. Military types would point out that's not ATG because I don't have on a high-viz layer. What about HANS-style devices?

Naked ride, high 5!

I guess riding in a dress counts as riding without pants.

My general rule of thumb is that if I'm riding the same route and speeds that I would ride on my bicycle, then I will often cut back on the gear for convenience.

Otherwise I'm Most of the Gear All the Time. I'm geared up except for pants on my commute. I know I should put my moto pants over my jeans, but usually don't unless weather dictates. Nobody feel sorry for me if I get road rash on my ass. It's a risk I knowingly take.

Part of my calculus is that I ride pretty conservatively. In 20 years, I've been in two crashes. Neither of them sent me sliding. I know it could happen, but that doesn't make me change to ATGATT from here forward.

ATGATT except for the kilt ride, etc. ACU pants would melt into your roadrash and Army boots have no ankle plate protection. The tread pattern on my Army boots seems to lock onto my pegs, so that's another reason to go with Moto-specific boots.

I have various helmets, jackets and boots. But I always wear: full face helmet, armored jacket, gloves, Draggin (kevlar) jeans and riding boots. What varies is, I sometimes wear armored pants or Bohn-Armor underneath my Draggin's. So partial ATGATT.

This.

Unless you are paying for my gear, I'll wear what I want.

I agree. Attitude is equally if not more important than protective gear IMO.

I don't wear my Bohn Underarmor under my Draggin' Jeans as often as I should, but I never ride without F/F helmet, armored jacket, moto glvoes and moto boots.

I don't have an air bag device or a Han's device and have no intention of buying either one.

In the cool when I used to commute I'd always wear my 'Stich.

So no, not ATGATT.

I often ride in riding jeans instead of leather or overpants but otherwise always helmet, gloves, jacket and boots.
