exactly. there is a direct quote from Ezpeleta talking about how theres no room for a vr46 team because the grid is full, saying "How can I say no to Valentino?"

Rossi has enough money to buy any of the Satellite grid spots anyways.

Avintia is a prime candidate. they are prob the poorest team on the grid and have the oldest bikes (tied with Aspar). I won't be surprised if they finish last in the team standings, which could hurt their subsidies and incentivize them to sell their spot.

if Rossi and Uccio try to put together a GP team quickly, they would prob use a lot of the Avintia staff and resources, making it an easier pill to swallow that Avintia will be completely out of GP shortly.

Maybe, or Monster suggested that they would like to sell more green sludge in that part of the world. I am hoping Zarco doesn't regret extending his contract with T3. Although, seeing him ride a KTM, might validate their bikes, one way or an udder.

Yeah, if VR and Dorna want a 46 premier team, it will happen. It might not be a good choice before he retires, though. Seems a bit sketchy. I assume he would have to race for himself.

speaking of green sludge:

F1's Lewis Hamilton rides with Crutchlow

".....What's [Cal] does is more hardcore than F1. "The speeds these guys do, it's insane. I'll be back here pushing. The back end has been sliding out. Now I'm hooked....."

Chuckwalla?

Rossi [translated]:

".....on Sic - "We were very friends, we were together almost every day, often after training, we went to dinner at Carlo's house (Casabianca, the athletic trainer), with the Sic who brought the sushi and who ate twice as much

We were also devastating and difficult to overcome, but I never thought about quitting, I was sorry to be there, if I had been two bikes later it would have been a little easier, but with time passing everything and when I think of the Sic I only have positive memories, I went on for love, otherwise I would have already stopped: a situation like that of Marco's incident does not exceed it

I was already great, I had won the World Cup, I could say enough. to divide the two things, the pain and what must be done to overcome. Then I thought about the career, which I wanted to continue, I wanted to return to Yamaha and return to winning
....."

Whoops. Well the following news isn't going to help you.

11+ million a year plus bonuses, is my guess. This is not good news for others, since it means Honda will focus on a MM bike, no tits or butts. Man, these teams need to sell a lot of stuff to pay for these series. F1 is even more worser.

How does this "shit bike syndrome theory" survive the reality of Johann Zarco's performance?

Didn't think Zarco was riding the '18 M1 and tech3 is sticking with the 2016 chassis, IIRC.

I don't understand why Yamaha wouldn't trot out a 2016 chassis if it would bring their factory team to the front....

they did at Valencia. they finished about the same as previous rounds. they also used it for direct comparisons in winter testing. the 2016 chassis has problems too and its not likely capable of winning the 'ship against Dovi and MM.

I recall the reverted back to a version of the 2016 chassis earlier in the year, as well. But perhaps that was just during testing.
