Motoscan app is way more cost effective and does same thing. I don't have it but there are many who do. Where you located?

Shops charge only $25 or so for that.

I was literally looking through past posts on barf yesterday to see if anyone had one but I saw, as Gary mentions, that cal Moto in Livermore will do it for $25 and I’m about to call and see about getting it done today. Not sure about BMW of SF though.

Update: just called and they said they would do it for free

Last time I had mine done at BMW of SF I believe it was $40 to reset the service light. But that was in 2016 so maybe different now.

Concord bmw $45 to turn off the service light.

I own the GS911. If I had known livermore bmw did it for free I would have bugged them.

From what I understand, you can buy a Diagnostic tool for about 400, you would reclaim that after 10 uses.
And no trips to dealership with scary Service Advisors.

The GS-911 is a worthwhile tool if your going to keep the bike. Besides a ton of data you can get real time for diagnostics; you can also reset fuel adaptation and other settings. This is handy for installing a fuel controller, pipe, different air filter, after a bad batch of gas, etc, etc... Makes the process faster. As pointed out it pays for itself rather quickly. If you like the BMW product it pays for itself faster. Works on my F800GS, R1200GS and R1150GS. Does NOT take a VIN spot on the older bikes like the R1150 but can be used to cycle/activate ABS systems for bleeding and has other diagnostics (HES, coils, etc..).

I just saw this on Craigslist. For the record, I'm not affiliated with this post, or do I own a BMW. Hope this may help someone.
