I mean "or." Not sure what else needs explaining.

They probably want a Jesus person first, someone good at their job second.

It doesn't make their approach any less unprofessional.

The majority of recruiters (there are some really good ones out there) are bottom feeders and have far less shame than ambition. It's very much like marketing and sales, fewer morals and ethics often (but not always) leads to greater income.

I know, that's literally what I've been saying throughout this entire discussion.

The recruiter was professional enough for his goal and his organisation.

(Doesn't mean I would go work for him/them--and Laaaaawd is de witness...neither would HH like to do that--but I do not find anything unprofessional in a recruiter clearly stating his goal. )

Anyone with Jedi in their self selected title is unprofessional inherently.

Confidence can get you a long ways, even if it's undeserved.

Am I the only one who doesn't buy into the feel good / choose your own title bullshit? It doesn't indicate confidence to me....or it indicates misplaced confidence. Would you introduce your worker in a meeting as our "Chief Jedi?" I don't find that amusing or beneficial.

"Oh you're a jedi? I'm God Emperor"

lol, reminds me of the kids at school who used to tell me I was going to hell for being a Catholic.

If they knew the first thing about Catholicism, they would know that we know we are already doomed sinners from the start.

I think I've seen/heard that..

It is not necessary worse, compared with to be introduced as Resource...

We had this whole big training thing on not calling people “resources” or referring to them as such. Literally nothing changed afterwards and from the top down we still get discussions over which team has enough resources to do whatever or what “resource” can help out / be reallocated etc.

I try to at least refer to people by their titles and whatnot. “Hey, let me see what analysts I have available to take a look” / “let me see if one of our offshore QA can help your team out tonight” etc.

I love when recruiters ask me if I'm interested in a job at a company that I've clearly worked for before without mentioning that they noticed I worked there before and why did I leave etc."Sure I'd love to come back to the company that fired me, I'll just need a letter of apology and a signing bonus, thanks"
