Also, how much Monster and/or Rockstar do you drink daily?

I've owned five F-150s in my lifetime. The ONLY one I've ever regretted selling off...

One of those would be sweet, but my next truck will probably be a crew cab.

I was thinking Bronco, but used Broncos won’t be available since they aren’t even selling them yet.

Why a Raptor over a "normal" F-150? Your name is Fred, not Chad or Conner or Brock.

I’ve had a normal F150 for the last 8 years. I kind of want something a little more exciting

Thinking of selling two cars and replacing it with one eventually.

Fred, considering the F-150 you'd be coming out of, literally ANY modern F-150 would be a lot more exciting.

Why not get the cool 4x4 and load it up with some ham radio gizmos? Work is 3 miles from my house, no need to worry about commute costs.

Oh I wasn't thinking of fuel costs. Insurance on the Raptor will cost you a fortune, no matter how old you are or how clean your record is. And the price to play is pretty dumb.

Go for a nice XLT FX4 package or perhaps spring for a Lariat. Plenty of bells and whistles and plenty of off-road capability that will still exceed what 95% of people would ever need and still 10s of thousands of dollars less than even a used Raptor.

Raptor is kind of shitty to drive on the street. Sure you get a little hoot mashing the gas and hearing those big knobbies howl coming off a stop because it accelerates shockingly well for a big off road truck. But after you do that, now you’re driving an off road truck on the street. Which means loud AF tires on the highway, shitty gas mileage, extra hassle maneuvering in parking garages (if it even fits) and such, and it’s a bit of a chore for shorter people to get in and out of. As long as you’re absolutely sure that’s what you want over a standard F-150, then I’d have a tough time picking the 2nd gen Raptor over the first. The Ford dealer that was in our dealer group, there was a 2 gen Raptor getting an engine replaced in the shop pretty much every single time I walked through there which was a few times a month. Yes the interior and tech is light years better than the 1st gen, but the engine reliability seems to be awful compared to the 1st gen.

Rumor has it that the V8 is coming back for the 3rd gen Raptor which should be announced next year.

Save your pennies and wait for the TRX? Not necessarily a Dodge fan but sure looks like they are trying to go after the Raptor with 702HP and 650ftlb.

Used V-8 Raptor. Take the money saved buying a used truck and put turbos on it.

More winning-er!

I wouldn't hold my breath. It wouldn't be the first time Dodge has announced a truck like this.
