None of these are super new, but all really good, they are multi-part documentary miniseries, not movies:
- Dirty Money (on Netflix, will disappoint you about society)
- Evolution of Hip Hop (on Netflix, will recharge you after Dirty Money)
- Cuba Libre Story (on Netflix, about history of Cuba)
- Prohibition, Ken Burns documentary (cant remember where I watched it, but itís brilliant).

Oh yes, any Ken Burns documentary is well worth watching.

I'm really psyched about his upcoming doc on country music. My dad's family was from Oklahoma. He and all his brothers were musicians, his dad and grandfather, his kin in Missouri and Arkansas. We were raised on that old time stuff. Hope Burns goes in depth on that stuff like he does on every other subject he tackles.

+1 for Murder Mountain
Making a murderer was good in the first season, so so in the second.
The Ted Bundy documentary is slow but interesting in a "holy-shit-he's-nuts" kinda way.

Just finished the Fyre documentary based on the disastrous fyre festival that went down (or didn't) last year. Pretty eye opening and hilarious.

The Endurance. It tells the story of Ernest Shackleton's 1914 Antarctic expedition. I was quite familiar with this unbelievably incredible story before watching it, but no matter...this is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen on anything. It's amazing that so much of the original film footage and photographs from the expedition survived.

Facing Ali. I'm not a big boxing fan. It's hard for me to watch people beating the shit out of each other. But Ali, as a person, is very interesting. I'd met him before and had shared a few words with him long after he quit fighting. This documentary is mostly interviews with 10 boxers that fought him. It was so much more than I'd anticipated. A very intimate look at Ali, for sure, but even more so the other boxers. It was heart-wrenching. Tears were shed.

Soundbreaking: Stories From the Cutting Edge of Recorded Music. An 8-part documentary that aired on PBS a few years ago. Super interesting. I learned a ton.

"Baseball" is one of the best documentaries ever, whether you enjoy sports or not. It's absolutely amazing.

Not really a documentary, per se, but this popped up on my YouTube feed last night and it caught my attention. I actually remember seeing a news article about these missing Germans not long after they disappeared but I didn't know they had been found 13-years later.
