I don't have a steering damper on my current bike. I keep thinking I should add one. Maybe some day before its too late.

Tankslappers are no fun. I broke a steering stop at speed. Not sure how I stayed up.

A tank slapper bent the front rim on my gsxr750. No crash and it was over in seconds.

Interesting, haven't heard of wheel damage from one. You're sure you didn't hit a rock etc that caused both?

Gave me a flashback to my '69 Kaw 500 3 cyl. The worst handling motorcycle I have ever owned. And the only motorcycle I have had a lock to lock tank slapper on. Had one of the first ones, that did not have the steering damper.

It was bumpy pavement. The front lifted a few inches as I got on the gas and the wheel wasn't straight when it made contact with the road again. Went into an immediate slapper and might have caught an edge from the cracked asph causing the damage.
The warp in the wheel was obvious right after the pass.

My initial thoughts exactly, but think about it. Running 180+mph, not much gloves are going to do for you when you asspack a semi.

If you can ignore the typical stuff, -=>Go to 5:00-7:00 where the public in London gets involved in a bike theft. Two a-holes try to steal a bike or two, but the public get's involved, thwarting the theft. Pretty cool...
