Interested! I get up to Bend on occasion for pistol matches and every time I'm there I say to myself, "Self, you should bring a dirt bike next time you are here."

Do it! Coincidentally, I am in Santa Cruz riding the street bike at the moment. And Oregon dirt trails are off line until spring. After that, game on and feel free to look me up.

I rode off Barr Road and around Cline Butte on Sunday. A little chilly at the start but good riding! Some friends rode Huckleberry Flats in Oakridge yesterday and said it was great and a balmy 54 degrees. The trails I ride from my house are under snow for at least another 2 months. But, you are correct, there are year round riding opportunities here in between storms and if you have decent cold weather gear.

2SYS's self: Take the dirty bike next time he hits bend.

OP, I know a guy up in Bend via ADVRider. He posts some excellent ride reports of the area. I'll see what I can dig up. He's a damn cool dude.

Cool. I recently got in with a good, diverse group of riders here. That should expand my opportunities and knowledge of the area. It only took drinking a case of Rainier pounders at Spoken Moto to get in with the crowd. Also picked up a jacket and better gloves! That last ride was cold.

The old bridge is now just for pedestrians, and in summer there is a company that does bungee jumps from it. That last picture looks like Chelseas Challenge at EFR, but not quite. Pretty much unlimited riding with a plated dirtbike east of the cascades.

...and yes, cold, snow starting now at 35 degrees at my place on the Deschutes between Redmond and Terrebonne.

Nice pictures! Maybe one of these days we will get to go on a ride.

Been looking at plated dirt bikes lately as my 250 XC-F isn't. Torn on how to go about it and don't want to try and turn my bike into a street legal machine, nor do I want to sell it. At one point I was pretty set on a 690 Enduro R, but think it might be a little big for some of the riding I would like to do. A 350 EXC would be grand, but so similar to what I ride now it seems hard to justify having it in the garage. Decisions, decisions.

The last picture is in some BLM canyon.
You might recognize this lava tube...
