Arrow SF -> Mendocino - Best Route without Highway?

Hi Guys!

First post here
I am reaching out to you in order to see if anyone has done the SF -> Mendocino. I am riding a 500cbf naked so the wind hits hard on the chest. Will be hard to be on the highway 3-4 hours so if you have an alternate route that is more windy and fun that would be great.

Really appreciate it!

One option is to take 1 the whole way. Of course, depending on what time of year/day of the week there may be excessive tourist/RV traffic.

Lots of options...
If coming from East Bay I like to go through Napa Valley (either side) then pick up 128 all the way to the coast.
From SF I like Sr Francis Drake Blvd out to the coast and up.
