MX of Nations on TV tomorrow 10/7/18

First race is at 10AM. There are 3 hours of coverage separated by a bit.

It is on CBS Sports Network.

https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/201...s-guide-video/

Seems Kevin Windam is now riding for Puerto Rico with Pastrana and Sipes.
I will be sporting my Team Puerto Rico shirt tomorrow..!

I wonder if Windam is going two stroke.. I kind of doubt it.

They did a great job prepping the track to make it rideable. Tomac did well. Herlings is the alien of MX.

Moto 2 about to start.

Holy man caves Budman!

Still absorbing the races..... it was certainly a statement by the MXGP guys, muddy conditions or not. There should be no excuses, the Euro's flat out beat us. We took 6th place in our own country with our best team.

Bench racing before the motos, I would have conceded that perhaps Herlings is the fastest motocross rider in the world. Certainly Cairoli right up there with him, an equal to Tomac. A few of their guys like DeSalle or Paulin etc a top 5 threat. But I would have argued still, before today, that the AMA has deeper talent in both of our AMA classes, the 450 (MX1) and especially the 250 (MX2).

After today, its sunk in. The MXGP guys are faster and have a deeper talent pool. Doesn't matter the track, soil type, or conditions. Anyone of the their top ten guys in MXGP can and have beaten Tomac. We can't say that about his AMA competition. Heck, their MX2 champion schooled us, twice today. If anyone on our team should have been able to compete in today conditions, it was Plessinger with his offload background.

We have all heard lots of excuses over the past few years about the MXdN, be it sand tracks, conditions, B teams, etc etc. Would have our team done better if it had been a perfectly groomed chocolate cake course or even hardpack? Most likely yes. But I don't think we would have won. Nor did any of our team let us down. Proud of them.

We weren't even close to the podium in the end. The French won again, deservedly, with tough competition form Italy, the Dutch DOWN ONE RIDER, the Aussies, and Brits. Still enjoyed the racing and was cheering for the Aussies to get their first over all win. Huge respect to a very deep MXGP field.

Yeah... the Spanish kid rocked it. Only 17

My bud told me he is staying to defend his title and per MXGP rules if he wins the Championship again he has to move up and has said he is not ready and will come to the USA.

Good take on the Euro's. Their outdoors skills are strong!

Yeh Prado..... he rocked it! If he stays healthy, he could very well be the likes of Everetts, Carmichel, Vilo, Roczen, Cairoli, Dungey, Herlings.

My post seemed like doom and gloom. I really enjoyed watching the races. Just hard to swallow how we are covered outdoors in varied terrain by the Euros. Coming of age at the beginning of the long American run, strength, even domination of both road racing and motocross, its hard to swallow. There will still be some tracks and conditions where we will be competitive, this wasn't one of them and next years sand track isn't going to be either.

This isn't Supercross and we don't have a SXdN. We still have that going for us.
