Good riding yesterday, was pretty good even though we were stuck in the parking zone. Nice to see the creek running and full, wish we coulda' ridden some of the new undercuts it made. We pretty much rode every little rock and rock pile we could find from one end of the park to the other, including logs. Finally got into the puddle areas at the West end and got water in the boot tops (3ft deep puddles) and Sid took a dip in one...might have even got his head under....

Lots of traction control practice, will be useful for this coming weekend. Should be a good event, see you all there!

I see little sunshines for Sat/Sun! Going to reinstall little flap that goes over my air filter, inside the airbox. Hoping that is why my bike died after going through that puddle. If not I'm going to have a lot of 5's on Sunday!!!

Well it looks like we'll come up Saturday morning, pushing to get there tonight to set up in the rain doesn't sound too fun. Rain forecast for the whole weekend but mostly showers rather than full on deluge. Gonna' be cold though, 38 tonight and 36 tomorrow! Can't wait to go ride in mud and streams while its below 40, guess Adrian is getting what he wants. Us pansy Californians will struggle whereas this seems like typical UK weather, will be bringing disposable nitrile gloves in case my hands get cold. See you guys up there, drive safe and try to get a spot on the gravel!

Good idea about the gloves, think I'll do the same. I show a low of 29 for Sunday!

Did a bunch of stuff to try to keep water out of my airbox after my bike died in that water hole at Carnegie. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen.

Due to continued unemployment and uninsurance, I don't think I should ride trials this year and I should sell my GasGas. PM me if you know anybody who wants a very low hour 2017 Contact 250 with Tubliss, Dunlops, folding levers, and spark arrestor.

Well another Copper trial is in the books. Adrian got what he wanted, a wet muddy trial that had all of us trying to find traction. Got up Saturday morning as the rain was ending and poked around watching folks ride the gate trial. It was muddy to start but was getting tacky by the end of the day, sun came out a little and Sunday was looking to be great weather.
Started raining and hailing at about 5 AM and kept at it until about noon. Riders meeting was mid 30's and raining and the first section we hit was a really hard one; stream over 2 ft log and a left up a nasty, rocky 8 ft wall then off camber and up across a steep, slippery hill with a slick log, rt hand floater and up another 10 ft off camber to the exit. Got a 5 and had to be dragged up to the gate.....not so good.

After the rain let up the mud got worse, not sure what that was about but a bunch of us noticed it. 3" of clay mud on a partially dry base made finding any drive hard, new lines were tried with a modicum of success. Trial was really challenging and also really fun. Me and Sid rode the ADV line for the first time and it was the right move to make. Mark was having some serious issues with his bike (carb likely) which stymied his efforts all day.

Next event is in about a month...can't wait.

Yes what a fun event slopping around in mud with your buds is too much fun to pass up. Congrats on placing Luke, that's awesome, looking forward to future events going to be a fun year.

Yeah it does look good (so would just about anything compared to last weekend). Carnegie on Saturday? Map out the new section locations so we can send them to Jeremy? 10 AM to 2 or so would be my choice. I'll see if Donna wants to come out as well.

I was thinking of hitting Metcalf on Saturday, assuming I can get my bike fixed. But if want to map out some of the sections at Carnegie I'm down for that.
