RIP Mike Hansen

We lost Mike Hansen Sunday. Iíve known him for 20 years. He was parts manager at Fremont Kawasaki Honda for many years and before that ran Fremont Cycle Salvage. He was 70. Gonna miss that old fucker! Iím in a fog right now. Gonna honor him by drinking a beer or six and finish puttin this dirt bike together. Ride on Mike!

Very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I've also known Mike going back to when Fremont Cycle Salvage was on Dusterberry Way. Mike was always very friendly, helpful, and such a cool, low key personality.

He's sold parts to me, done brake and light inspections, given out lots of advise, and just generally been a great guy in the moto world. I just saw him a few months ago when I had my SV in for service at the new location. Gonna miss him for sure.

Same here. I used to hang out w/the Fremont Cycle Salvage Sunday ride crowd & went by there for parts alot in the late 70's.

Anyone got a picture of Mike?

Godspeed my man.

Mike has been behind the counter with a smile long before Fremont Cycle Salvage. He worked the counter at West Bay Cycle Salvage (Larry Randallís) on San Antonio Rd in the late 70ís in Mountain View too. Always helpful, always friendly, always smiling. A good guy to have in the m/c business and in the sport.

I grew up in the same neighborhood as Mike, was good friends with his younger brother. We worked together building Atari game cabinets in the late 70's. Last time I saw him was at Fremont Honda Kawasaki. I always liked Mike. What took him from us?

Here is another picture of Mike. I had the privilege to call him a friend and coworker for the past 26 years. First at Fremont Cycle Salvage and then on to the Fremont Honda Kawasaki location. He had many friends within the motorcycle community and I was lucky enough to be one of them. He had such a vast knowledge of all things related to motorcycles. He was my bicycle riding buddy, our store softball team pitcher, and an all-around great guy. He was such a selfless person and he will be missed by many. Godspeed Mike or "Superbike Mike" or "Dancin Mike Hansen" as he was called by his coworkers.
