Glad you're semi-ok!

Healing takes time and you'll have to dig deep to get through the pain and to the other side. Being stubborn about pain pills makes healing a whole lot harder - if you're in too much pain you'll never be able to weight bear and re-build bone. Listen to your doctors and wean off when you can.

Today is the first time in nearly 1 1/2 yrs I was able to fully wash my hair with both arms, boy does it feel good to be able to do the little things.

Take your time and do your PT as if you're life depends on it. Keep your mind occupied and set goals.

Let me know if you need an ear about healing from injuries. Good luck and happy you're still around!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I've never been through what you're facing so not much help there. Glad it wasn't worse and you're still here.

35 years back had my leg crushed (bumper/moto case), 99% back.

take the pain drugs, but plan on walking away from them in six to nine months.
( but keep them around).

double yes on getting vertical asap, should have seen my big toe the first time out of bed 😁

good you are able to talk and laught about it. let your body heal, take vitamins,
plan on a year out of it ( took me two and a half years). over one year till i was allowed to put weight on the leg.

heal up and ride on 🚴 (sorry no moto icon).

Playstation or XBox, reading, learn to play a musical instrument, meditation, take online courses, study a foreign language....many options. And most important: healing!

+1 for online courses. We've talked about it before briefly, but now would be a great time to start studying programming. Coursera offers free programming classes from MIT, Princeton, Stanford, Harvard, etc. HackerRank has practice exercises for various things. Why not shift careers while you recover?

Glad you've made it this far, ABC.

What to do now? Do what the doctors say. They're not magicians, but they will know what's best.

Ask your gf to check in with the hospital staff that handles insurance claims, etc., and with your insurance company. It ain't cheap, but the sooner stuff can be started, the better in the long run.

What to do in the process of healing? Rest. Eat well. Keep your mind active. Try to be regular. Do all of the physical therapy. Check into some individual therapy (getting busted up *really* is a traumatic deal). Get someone to go with you for at least the first appointment with every new doctor / therapist / office.

Thank your gf (and other supporting people).

Keep us posted once in a while.

OP, that really sucks man. As everyone has said, just do what the doctors say, do the PT, and all that. And buy your lady something really nice when you're through all of this. She's gonna deserve it. Mine went out and rented me a wheelchair so she could get me out of the house and all kinds of stuff.

That's not gonna happen on real pain killers

Thanks for the information. I keep hearing information from my opioid addicted clients that one of their favorites isn't available on the streets anymore. I will definately include percoset in my current assessment.......

hydrocodone is similar but is less regulated.......
OP-be careful and cautious about the addictive qualities of the medicine you are taking for pain-the withdrawal symptoms suck ass.

ABC, I'm glad you're still with us. I've had quite a few nasty injuries over the years. Hit me up if you want to discuss details, advice, etc. Hang in there, use the pain meds only as much as you have to.
