newbie in Gilroy

Hi all, I'm Kelly (a he-Kelly, not a she-Kelly). I currently only own the one bike, a 1988 BMW R100GS Bumblebeemer that I bought brand new. It's in the shop in Watsonville (Ben's) getting some work done, particularly a new starter.

37 or 38 years of riding without any crashes. I'm not counting laying the bike down in about 1994 on Page Mill Rd when I hit a bit of gravel, since no other vehicles were involved.

I now have a crazy commute up to Milpitas and I thought of getting a newer bike with ABS, since my commute is often 70 min each way, but I think I'd just be asking for trouble. I know I'm a very safe rider but riding just to save 20 minutes of my commute, up 101 from Gilroy, seems like asking for trouble.

Galoot, welcome. I've been into Ben's, he's got a great shop.

I'd love to see a picture of your pretty little bumblebee. I have such a soft spot for those.

Welcome he-kelly
The adventure is in the rider, not the bike.
