Avoid Scammer Mechanics

Hello everybody

I am very new to the area and the American culture since I have moved to here from other side of the world. Sometimes things goes wrong just because of trusting to the wrong people and I feel like we should do something spread the word to avoid future victims.

I have scammed by a mechanic that works in the bay area. This person is a drug addict and victimized me and insulted me personally. I have trusted this person to customize my motorcycle he disassembled the bike and disappeared, had to go the police station report etc. but noting basically happens to those person after stealing parts time and money. He gave me really hard times to get my bike back even, part by part from his garage and he tried to sell me the parts that he kept in his garage later. This person still advertising his self on craigslist as an unbelievable talented mechanic however he is a scammer. My bad I paid him in advance to finish my bike asap and he never did anything plus said he didn't push me to pay to him.

I am willing to expose those kind of people and put their names out to avoid future damage to the motorcycle lovers. Those type of people take your time money excitement and motivation. Felt horrible been months still my bike not running because I don't have the skills or money right now to put it together. Even I have money no mechanic I can work with around here.

Please be careful to stay away from this person. Not sure if I should expose his name here or not? This is just friendly warning for everyone who might fall into the same mistake.

He is new.. and does not know the protocol here.

If they were a member technically he would be breaking the TOS, but with proof it would be a good outing.

I have PM'd him to discuss.

What was wrong with your bike?

What did you ask him to do?

What did he agree to do?

Did he come to you or you took your bike to his shop?

That and "rat racing". And "Fast Women and Wicked Fast Rides". And that he's advertising on Craig's List.

OP says he's new to the area and American culture.

OP radar blind to the dark arts of big talkers advertising their awesomeness on CL at below market prices.

And then trusting as such without any references or checking Yelp/Google Map customer reviews.

Still hoping for details on what issues the bike had, what was agreed to, etc.

Okay I can give details and there is his phone number you can call and ask if you like to. As I said at the beginning we made a deal about total disassembling anodizing some parts and frame. I paid to him in advance $500 for disassemble and putting it together and $400 for anodizing. All paid in advance only to make it faster. Then he said the anodizing guy disappeared my parts stuck at his place and he said he already paid for those. Then I asked him to bring the parts back put the bike together he never answered I got frustrated because he said this will be done in 2 weeks so I had to push him to assemble the bike and he said this time his father in town so he can't work in his garage. I invited him to my place he didn't want to. After almost 3 months I finally gave up and knocked his door and he tried to attack me because I was pushing him to get my parts (Not a bike anymore) So I calmed him down that day and tried to motivate him to assemble the bike. It took another month he didn't do anything I went down there again knocked his door to get my parts finally he gave most of my parts many missing how can I know at that moment parts were missing. At the same night he asked me to give him a ride to the DT he squeezed his self into my car with his 5 years old daughter and went me through drug deal. After that day I went down there again to get the rest of the parts maybe 5 time he didn't show up, his father came out said he is a liar, drug addict He don't give F""" about him etc. Then I had to call the police to get my parts from him. All reported if anybody wants to hear the story they can call the Pacifica police station or direct massage me.

Only thing left is wiring harness, It needs to be placed and maybe a little check up. Everything on the bike worked perfect I rode my bike to his garage. I did the rest of the assemble my self because I couldn't find any mechanic in the area. I am trying to find something good in this situation I learned a lot about my bike, my self and people.

Thank you everyone.
