Exclamation Carnegie SRI Crossing Closure

Well just saw on Facebook from Carnagie rangers that they had to close down the cement water crossing area accessing the motocross track, 4x4 area, trials area and the gravel parking lot over there too. Not sure why but something about an ongoing lawsuit. Seriously ! This is ridiculous with all the lawsuits and all, they wont stop people, they want it closed down. Please please write your representatives, Butch please chime in on this

Take it easy there....the lawsuit has to do with Carnegie sticking to the environmental protections they agreed to years ago but weren't really doing. That was the basis for it being almost closed down a couple of years ago... the creek wasn't being protected. If they don't close down the road then the lawsuit will close the place.

I found out that the Garamecci's or whatever the name of the woman that is hell bent on closing the place live up above the area. They use that road and Carnegie gives them an easement for it. I think they just don't want to hassle with all the bikes and the park and just want a normal 5 mile driveway so she is using all her connections to get it.

Can bikes still ride across or do you have to jump it clean to get to the other side? Why did the dirt biker cross the road...to get to the trails on the other side!

They did mention that the 4x4 area, motocross track and trials area are closed not because of access but closed. They said there's a way to access Kiln Canyon still but the other areas are closed until further notice. Hmmmmm!

Celeste Garamendi and the Haters. Brother John Garamendi, Congressman and former Lieutenant Gov.; Husband Mark Connaly, ownes the 9000 acre cow ranch to the south.

Rich folks. Really, really rich. Old California family rich. Celeste hates OHV. Mark too.

The lawsuits are challenging the adoption of the new general plan and developing the 3000 acre expansion area. Celeste is behind them all. There were four, but the state got Alameda parks to back down. Still three. Connally, Tesla Park and Celeste's recycling pals.

A closure is probablly just a temparary water quality issue. It rained pretty hard here; 2.17 inches in 24 hours at Metcalf.

I stand corrected, after looking at the FB post that UtO sent me it may not be just for the run-off issues like I thought. This may last a while.....uh oh. You can get to Kiln by going across the hills, SoL if trying to get to the trials or 4x4 area I think. I'm sure folks will do it if at all possible.

For cows for chrissakes....BOYCOTT BEEF I tell ya, that'll show 'em ;( except they are sooooo delicious.

Water sucking, methane producing, landscape wrecking...cows. I hate those hypocrites.

Who wants to kick in some bucks to have 20 tons of dirt piled on their driveway? Could also look into concrete just before a rain.

thank you dub. I just talked to the park, and to Amy with CORVA.

The State Park, which Carnegie SVRA is, has an agreement with the Connaly Ranch Easment. Marky C got a judge to close of public access to our land... more to follow.
Sit tight.

As far as I can conclude, a wealthy landowner adjacent to the park, by using some criteria of some earlier access agreement, has had some influence of the “SRI Crossing” of the creek and closed it to everyone except himself and his friends. This causes significant inconvenience to users of the park.

As park users, we must abide by this judicial ruling. As a fellow park user, I implore you to so the same and ask the other park users you know to do the same. Civil disobedience at this time would be severely counterproductive.

Please join CORVA to see what we should do next.

Edit: this is a separate legal action than the General Plan issues. Garamendi/ Connally must have lots of time and money.
