Multi suspension plans for ‘19

Talked to Catalyst about my next mod on my multistrada (‘15) and that would be ohlin’s front and back. Stock suspension is good but falls behind when really getting it.

Anyone done that and have feedback??

I know I will lose the dynamic response and settings from the various modes, but I think it is the right call. So looking for input because it will cost me.

The bike is not bad, but at high speeds I can tell that it isn’t the shit.
I like the shit.

So far I have stripped 50lbs off the bike and I can feel it.
Wheels
Titanium full exhaust
Center stand removal
Titanium bolt kit.

One more step to leave a quality bike for the next owner.

I thought that Penske shocks were somewhat more popular. I love the triple that I have.

Ohlins is alright, mostly just bling though. I've had them leak before.

Skyhook is supposed to be the shit I thought? You might just need a refresh, or a slight change on the valving. How many miles on your suspension?

I wasn't impressed all that much with the Sachs Skyhook on my 2013 MTS1200. it didn't seem to have that supple, silky smooth action that I've felt with the swedish gold.

Ohlins may be bling but it certainly is functional bling IMHO.

Ohlins/Canfield Win. When I finally broke down and spent money on Ohlins I found out why it is so popular.

15K miles.

It is good and I like that it can be adjusted on the fly, but for real sport riding it is not as good as my '12 with Ohlin's was. Giving up a little on the fluff for better performance on the upper end of fun seems OK to me. I have done nothing to it. Not sure who would do that kind of work, but worth exploring.
Any ideas on who does that stuff??

It always seem a little harsh in sport mode on bumpy roads compared to the old bike and then at the upper reaches then it wallows compared to my friends on real spr0tbiles.

OH ... I should add I have tried going to different settings on the loading. One person, 1+ luggage, 2 person. I setting in at 1 + luggage being a fat ass that helped a bit.

I have my skyhook set to sport mode, 2up + luggage; it makes the ride slightly rough (I'm 285 lbs) but keeps it composed at speed.

Öhlins has semi active setup that lots of Europeans rave about, but I have not had a chance to try it.
I would assume the total cost of going to Öhlins would be as much as the difference in trading in the old for a new Pikes Peak multi. I tried a '18 multi and the suspension is definitely better on the newer ones - mine is a '13.

I did not find an Öhlins kit for the '15 multistrada - would this be a complete custom setup?
